CHAPTER 69: HIDDEN FACTS

The Senator was in a meeting and we had to wait in my mini truck. My stomach was hurting but I could not tell Larry. I just wanted to have a meeting with the Senator.

Larry looked at me as I struggled in pain and tried my best to pretend that I was okay. I had almost forgotten that I was pregnant and that my lifestyle and condition had to change.

“Cassie, you don’t look good, we can cancel this meeting so that you can get some treatment,” Larry said.

“Don’t bother Larry. I would be fine,” I said.

I wanted to be the one to talk to the Senate president so that he could see the seriousness and the advantage of keeping Senator Alby alive for now. I know that the Senate President is vexed, but this was what the gang wanted.

A call came in and Larry had to get there but I could hear from the caller that the Senator would see us now and wanted us to come in through the back door.

“I am sorry you had to come in through the back door,” he said, washing his hands.
