Marvin was still shaken when we got to the apartment. He hurriedly went to the bathroom and I knew he wanted to be alone. I undressed and wore something light. I decided that I was going to wait for him to recover from whatever he was feeling before engaging him.

This contract is unbelievably complex and, once again, I have come to believe there is more to this than just killing Marvin. Is Marvin Simpson Senior a Mafia Lord? Did he cross paths with other Mafia Lords? Why would almost every person in this part of the world want him dead?

I could understand why Uncle Jonah sent those bodyguards to kill Marvin. He was next in line, with Marvin gone he controlled everything. I also thought he had an insider feeding him exact locations and other information about Marvin. I felt that there must be more people trying to get rid of this gentle soul, Marvin.

I counted the people after Marvin’s life and found them to be, Me, Josh, and the other assassin from the Contractor, his Uncle, and probably Ken. I didn’t know whether to let Marvin know that his uncle was after his life too. I decided to tell Ken to inform him. He would trust Ken more, I thought.

“Are you okay?” I asked.

“Yeah, I am, but I am quite shocked because my Dad never makes a mistake. I need to talk to him but cannot do that now,” he replied.

“It’s okay dear, but did you get the documents you went for?” I asked.

“Yes, I did Cax. That’s the only good thing I did today,” Marvin replied.

“At least we came back with our lives,” I said.

We hugged and kissed and he removed my top and my breasts shot out. He was staring at them and after a while, he kissed them. He put back my top and we sat down holding each other without talking.

I needed to see the documents. If it was, I thought it was the documents. If it is then my job has been made easy. I would have to kill Marvin right here and deliver the documents to the Contractor. I needed a distraction to have access to the document.

Marvin had been craving to have sex with me for as long as I could remember. Now is the best time to give him the last sex of his life before his death. I removed my top and shorts and went to the bathroom.

I came out naked, and Marvin was going through the documents. I hopped on his back while he continued with what he was doing. I watched as he went through the documents one after the other.

Apparently, his father had been storing precious stones and gold in different locations and banks. The documents could make anyone the richest man in the country. It was that simple. Money, stones, gold, key numbers, locations, and the amount of what was stored were all in the document.

Marvin looked at me and said, "My father told me I was going to be a very rich man. I thought he was being prophetic. I never knew he had all these things waiting for me."

"No wonder..." I almost finished the sentence before I came back to my senses.

"No wonder what?” he asked.

“No wonder all these people are trying to kill you,” I said, though what was in my thought was the reason the Contractor wanted the documents. I began to think that the Contractor tricked me when I mentioned that it was fifty million dollars I wanted or nothing. I could have asked for more.

“We are going to be very rich Cax and I am going to protect you,” Marvin said, filled up with so many emotions. It seemed he was just happy to please his father.

I was so sorry for him. I had to kill him now and leave the country because I had become so exposed. I removed his belt and kissed him on his navel. My hands were very busy and slow, touching his skin lightly but covering every part that they touched. I kissed his neck slowly and then kissed his lips. He placed his mouth on one of my nipples while he cupped the other breast with the other hand. We made love so passionately as if our lives depended on it. So many times, while we were making love, I thought of strangling him or smashing his head, but I could not. I took out the knife I hid and wanted to stab him but he turned towards me and kissed me again.

“We could be together, you and I,” he said.

“We cannot. It is not possible,” I said.

“Cax, I am going to love you as long I live. You have saved my life and you deserved nothing less,” Marvin said, and continued kissing both nipples.

“Okay, but you need protection, and a lot of good people around you,” I said.

We sat on the bed, and both of us were naked. I went to get drinks for us. I gave him a glass and sat back. He looked at me and winked.

“Cax, if we are to be together, you need to tell me the truth. I am tired of being deceived. Is there anything I should know?” Marvin asked me.

“No, I am clean,” I said.

“Are you sure?” he asked.

“Okay, I think you should know that the bodyguards that tried to kill you were sent by your uncle and not your father,” I told him.

“Uncle Jonah! No, that’s impossible!! Uncle Jonah would not do that!!!” Marvin exclaimed.

This was the reason I did not want to tell him initially. Marvin easily trusted people. That was also the reason I got close to him. How can he be so naive? Everyone wants what he has and would kill him for it yet he does not see it.

“I was going to tell Ken because I knew you would not believe me,” I replied. He was still in disbelief. I needed to make him see that he was at risk to everyone, including myself. If he wants to be alive to spend these riches, then he has to be extremely wise and not be emotional. This was someone I could have killed a few moments ago and who had just claimed his love for me.

“Marvin, look around you, nobody cares about you. You have succeeded in escaping from two assassination attempts. Please, my love, think for yourself.” I said, almost faking trying to cry.

“What do we do now?” he asked me very innocently.

“Start by not trusting anyone, dear,” I said.

“Okay, I agree with you,” Marvin replied.

I had called Larry so that he could help me with getting some bodyguards that I had worked with before. He also brought a fantastic driver in Mike. He was a skillful driver and, of course, he could shoot. It seemed that I was now in charge of his security details. When they arrived, I spoke to them briefly before they introduced themselves to Marvin.

After they finished speaking with Marvin, he came straight to me.

“What did you tell them?’ he asked me.

“I told them that your life is more important to me than mine, in a nutshell,” I said, smiling.

“How did you know all these things, all these people? I don’t get it Cax.” Marvin asked.

“I am from the streets, remember,” I replied.

“The streets make you rough, the streets don’t make you a professional. You look like someone that is trained to do this” he insisted.

“Being professional or being rough, what is the difference?” I asked.

I was brought to the office first from the secret path. I went to the store and changed clothes. No one would have believed me if I had told them about the wonderful weekend this cleaner had. I enjoyed every bit of it. I loved the acting, the thrills, and, of course, the lovemaking. I was still thinking and smiling to myself when Ken came in shouting.“Cax! Don't pretend to be deaf, I have been calling you,” Ken shouted at me.“I am sorry. How can I help you sir,” I said.“Do your job, just do your job. Go and clean Marvin’s office and please get your acts together,” he continued in a very high tone as he left the store. I hurriedly gathered my things and left Rose in the store who had come to ask me for some cleaning items for her work downstairs. I could have given her, but I did not want Ken’s trouble. I sensed something must have triggered this.I had just started to clean Marvin’s office when Ken stormed in. He looked like he was not happy to see me today. I thought it was bes

I was not happy that Marvin was going on a date with whoever it was. I did not know why it seemed jealous, but that was the way I felt. I could not explain this, though I needed the distraction to think clearly.I lay down on my bed. I was going through the documents again and wondered why Marvin did not go through them properly and thoroughly. He was so trusting and I felt very sad about it. Though he claimed his father had told him many times not to trust anyone, he kept making mistakes. I concluded that it was his nature to trust easily.I thought about the best way to get him killed without it coming back to me. I decided I was going to do it while he was on the date. I was going to poison him while he was on his date. I called Larry, who gave me the location of the date. Larry’s men were his personal bodyguards and Larry warned that I should not kill any of his bodyguards.Marvin’s date was Shantel. She worked for Marvin’s father for a little while before working for Uncle Jonah’

I was preparing for work. I did not want to wake Marvin, so I was doing everything quietly. I thought he needed rest from all that was happening to him. They were happening so fast and could easily throw off anyone very quickly.I looked at him as he slept like a baby. I bent down and gave him a kiss on his cheek. He grabbed me and threw me on the bed.“I thought you were sleeping,” I smiled as I planted a kiss on his mouth.“No, I was watching you,” he replied, laughing.“So I was only fooling myself by walking about like a thief not wanting to disturb you, my dear, That’s not fair,” I said, and kissed him again.“Where do you think you are going?” He asked.“Marvin, I am going to work. That I sleep with my boss does not mean I should not work,” I said smiling at him.“Okay, your boss is ordering you not to go to work,” Marvin said.“Sorry, my mistake. You are not my boss. I report to the Administrative Manager who happens to be your Assistant,” I said, holding his ears.“That would

I sat down in Marvin's office as we looked at all the options we had for ensuring that our future and that of the twins were secured. He was not sure whether I agreed with him or not as he presented his plans. I looked straight at him with no emotions, and I was wondering whether it was because I had become the most dreaded Mafia Lord in town or that I just couldn't marry him."You are still married to Ms. June," I said immediately after he finished his speech, "or do you want me to take care of that too?" I asked."How do you mean, Cassie?" He asked, not sure if he understood what I meant."She looks like someone in the middle of our dream,"I said."She works for you," he replied.I told Marvin that we might have to wait for Ms. June's contract to expire, or he could talk to June to cancel the contract and pay her off if he wants us to be together. He agreed to talk to June. We did not know why June didn't want to cancel the contract even when she knew she would be fully paid as agre

CHAPTER 131: MY TABLE MY MOVES

I sat at the table as the head of the gang for the first time and this time was to sort out issues that were arising due to me being selected as their leader. I told them how I had led this gang to this particular height single-handedly and could, even in my pregnancy, still take on any of them.Larry came late due to the task I had given him and one of the table members wanted to raise an objection to that, but I was not having any of that. I told him to sit his ass down, and it brought the quietness I had wanted to drive home my message.Larry's revelation about Cally's involvement was unexpected and unsettling. I leaned forward, studying the information he brought. "Cally hired Jasper? What does he gain from orchestrating my kidnapping?" I wondered aloud.Larry sighed, "It seems like there's more to this than meets the eye. Maybe he sees you as a threat, or perhaps he's trying to disrupt our operations. I'll dig deeper to find the motives."I nodded, acknowledging Larry's commitmen

We could not carry on without you when Larry told us you were indisposed,” Sancho said.“Sancho, do not worry about me. I am fine. It will take more than pregnancy to hold me down,” I said, knowing that everyone was expecting to declare that I was pregnant so that I would not be made the leader of the Martinez Gang.“It is the reason we want pregnant women to sit out of business till they are ready,” Sancho said.“And the men who got them pregnant?” I asked.“It is a man’s world, Cassie. Anyway, we were worried about you,” Sancho said."I appreciate the concern, but we have a bigger problem," I began, looking around the table, "I was abducted this morning and Jasper, Rose'

The car moved steadily through the darkened city, the rhythmic hum of the engine accompanying the weighty silence that enveloped us. "Cassie, I... I didn't have a clue. The whole thing took us by surprise. We were on high alert after everything with the Contractor and the Martinez Gang, but this... It was a blind spot."His words carried a weight of genuine concern, and I understood the complexities of the clandestine world we navigated. They were waiting for instructions to get rid of me and that was how I got my first knowledge that it was not the Martinez Gang. I needed my gun, or would I say that I needed any gun I could get my hands on?I was waiting for the perfect time to strike. I knew I had to be strategic because it was a fight where the guns were fighting with the object I had used to free myself."If Jasper was not coming, then let's kill the woman and ensure that he knows where we buried her body so that he can mourn her," said one of them who was already laughing at his own joke.

I tried to visualize where I was and who was coming and leaving the place I was."If I could see you, I would tell if you would die first before the rest of your gang, you silly thing," I replied. I was not going to allow someone who does not have the decency to reveal his face to scare me. I felt that they were already scared of me and that was why they blindfolded me. I sat in Marvin’s room as we plotted how to go about with the Callyb predicament. It was Marvin’s room where strategic decisions unfolded, Marvin and I plotted our next move, we intended to buy out Cally Industrials even when we knew Cally would never sell his company to us. The revelation about Cally's financial struggles became a catalyst, and we decided that a buyout might be the most strategic play in this intricate game of corporate chess. With my unwavering determination, I articulated the plan to Marvin, my partner in both business and life. "Marvin, acquiring Cally's company is our next logical step. It will not only eliminate a formidable rival but also position us as dominant players in the industry. We have the means, the strategy, and now, the insight into their financial vulnerabilities.
