I stirred from sleep. Something woke me up. It felt like knocking. Oh, someone was trying different rhythms of knocking on my door. Probably, mum, she won't just let me be.

Another series of knocks interrupted my thoughts.

"I'm coming", I sighed, rumbling my bedsheets a little.

I threw on a T-shirt, glanced at the mirror, and saw a lady with puffy eyes, tangled hair, and a sad smile.

I took a comb to adjust a little but paused. "What's the use? Daniel wasn't here to adore all these". I upheaved loudly and strolled to the door and there mom looking apologetic.
