Distress

Luka gulped in distress. Right now, he wanted nothing more, than to hide in a dark, quiet room and cry himself to sleep. He needed time to grieve for himself, how he got entangled in a family that didn't want him, to let out all the exhaustion that appeared to be crippling him. It was happening all too fast. A lost job.. A disinterested sibling, A family that hated him... Now this?

He slowly looked up to meet the gaze of Pamela. Her grey hair was pulled up into a tight bun, her mouth contorted into a scowl and discontentment haunted her expression.

'Mother....'.

He got slapped in the face as soon as the words slipped out his mouth. 'Don't you dare call me that. I warned you already... Twice!' She screeched.

'I'm sorry' Luka pleaded, almost breaking down again. There's just so much the heart could take at once. This is getting really out of proportion....
