Isabel was tired. She needed to breathe fresh air. While everyone seemed to be enjoying wining and dining while making small business talks, Isabel wanted to not talk about stocks and market value and prospects; she wanted to stop smiling at everyone whether she liked them or not and was tired of hearing the word “beautiful” almost each time she was introduced. She also wanted to take off the damn heels that were hurting her feet without caring about what anyone might think if they see her walking barefooted. Isabel thought to herself that tonight will be the last time she would this deathly pair of heels again.

As she rested against the railing, she took in deep breaths of the fresh air. In a few minutes, she would be called by her father back into the hall again. Her phone vibrated in her head as she rotated her head to ease the knot in her neck.

“Great.” She muttered to herself in a pitiful tone as she picked it but it wasn't her father. It was the hospital.

“He's awake?” Isabel r

The only edge he had on this matter was the deal that Isabel was going to divorce Ethan so that his son—after his bad behavior has been curtailed— would marry her. Patience. Simon stroked himself mentally. Patience. Richard chuckled as he walked away from the men who had showed quality interest in investing and a desire to set up a meeting with Isabel. He looked around for any sight of his daughter in her monochrome jumpsuit but couldn't find her. Instead he bumped into his son.“Anthony!”“You look all smiles fat

“Usually, my father makes sure people cease to exist but if you're still alive it's either because you're useful in the future or he's busy with something else and you're just a bug in the way.” William leaned the back of his head on the wall. “Like I am.”Pammad watch a couple of men pass them in groups as they discussed their opinions on a topic in hush tones. “What did you do to land yourself here?”“I simply followed him around, I always knew my father was up to something with his sudden takeoffs in the middle of work and he's never telling me where. I got curious, I wanted to find out.”“Simon would definitely not like that.” Pammad agreed with a short bob of his head as he folded his arms across his shirt. “Still not enough to let you rot here. I wouldn't do that to my child. The prison changes men.”“I believe that's exactly why he left me. He wanted the prison to tame my wings but I won't be here forever. The moment I leave here, I'll let him know that he thought wrong.”“Sim

  • So long

The childlike giggle high-pitched by excitement travelled far thanks to the wind that came with the push and pull of the seawater against the sand, creamy white foam lining the tip. There were three figures playing on the sand, two wore blue shorts and were shirtless while the third one wore a green one with a tank top on. They all had light blonde hair. “I'm counting now!” The third one yelled, sounding feminine. “One! Two! Three! Stop!” The boys froze. They both found it hard to control their laughter as the girl chose which to go after. The game was simple. She had a maximum of three leaps to make it tonome person. If she does touch whichever she picked in those three leaps, then the person touched will replace her in he middle and do his counting. • Satisfaction

Isabel's spirit seemed to drop further into despondency with each step she took down the stairs. Wrapped in a wool robe and her hair in a towel of the same material, her finger traced the silver railing of her stairs as she descended slowly. She's just had the loneliest heartbreaking bath. Despite the essence she had added to her bath water that was meant to help her feel great afterwards, her body still ached. And parts of her she couldn't exactly identity. She was sure if one thing however. That she was numb from head to toe. She's done enough crying to last a year, her tear ducts were probably tired and wouldn't produce any more of the salty liquid even if it was prompted to. Her slow descent finally came to an end and she had eventually reached the end of the stairs. Her eyes roamed the house at an unrushed pace, slowly taking everything in and noting how empty—super empty the house seemed to have become. Could one person really make such an impact? She asked herself, huggin

Today was sunny and his gelled hair was shiny under the rays of the sun. “Yeah. Tony Ecaudor. Just by name. Isabel didn't wait for the car to completely stop. She couldn't. The words were still playing over and over in her head. “Ethan signed the divorce papers sweetheart. You're now a free woman.” As soon as her father had said those words, the driver had stopped the car while she asked—rather, demanded what he was talking about and why the divorce papers had her signature on it even when she had no recollection of ever signing the divorce papers. “You don't remember? It was the day we ate together at the restaurant.” Her father had answered before closing the door, leaving her even more consterned. She rushed past the guards and servants welcoming her, not bothering about her belongings still in the boot of the car.
