Chapter 6: Life imprisonment

Anthony was walking into the courtroom ,when Amelia's mother, who always praised him for how well he treated her daughter, stood up with tears in her eyes and pointed an accusing finger at him, while her whole body was trembling with anger.

“You monster ! How could you kill my daughter? I told her to leave you and she would never agree ,now look at what you have done to her, you psychopath!" She yelled angrily with tears running down her cheeks and Anthony was just stunned and stared at her in disbelief.

His mother in law has never told his wife to leave him, she was one of the people who always settled an argument he had with his wife, so he was wondering why she was doing all this.

Was it money he wondered?

Anthony was too hurt and too surprised to even talk.

He was placed on his seat and one by one, his neighbors, his friends and his in-laws testified against him and said that he always abused his wife, his younger brother and his mom.

They even went as far as saying that he has a mental problem, and they forged a doctor's report of him having a mental problem and refusing to take his drugs and it was bought as proof to the judge.

Anthony was too dumbfounded to speak, when the judge asked for his side of the story ,he denied all the charges against him, but everyone in the courtroom including his lawyer was against him.

It was a battle he couldn't win.

“Mr Anthony Martin, you are sentenced to life in prisonment." The judge said ,as he hit his hammer.

Anthony was dragged up from his seat by the policeman who began escorting him out of the courtroom. When he was leaving the courtroom, his neighbors and a small crowd outside were throwing stuff at him and calling him names.

“Filthy piece of shit,you should rot in jail for your crimes!”

“I hope someone in prison does the world a favor and gets rid of you!”

“Why did the judge give him life in prisonment , he should have been killed off immediately he is a threat to the everyone!”

A water bottle hit his head before he was taken into the police car.

Tears were the last things on Anthony's mind when he thought about how he would spend the rest of his life in jail,it was something he never imagined would happen.

He was dropped off in the prison as the prison guard took to his room.

Anthony's eyes were red from trying to hold back tears and the burning anger and hatred for everyone and everything around him.

“Breath, breath." Anthony whispered to himself ,as he remembered what Amelia would tell him whenever he was about to have an outburst.

The prison door opened and three men with tattoos all over their body and one had a face tattoo turned to look at Anthony.

“You have a new roommate.” The prison guard told them.

“Get inside.” He commanded Anthony , as he took off his hand cuffs and pushed him into the room and the three men all stood up.

“Welcome to your living nightmare. ” One of the prisoners said with a smirk.

“Why don't we begin the initiation, since you are now a part of our family.” The second prisoner said ,as they approached him.

Right now Anthony had nothing to live for, so if anyone was after him ,he was prepared to fight till the end.

Anthony clenched his two fists together and bought it up to his face ready to fight and the three men exchanged glances and laughed.

“We got an interesting room-mate.” One laughed.

“Get him!” One yelled.

Anthony moved swiftly and his fist targeted the one he saw to be the weakest and a kick to the stomach knocked the man out ,as the second man charged at him, the main boss had his hands folded while watching them fight, so he could figure out Anthony's fighting pattern.

Anthony didn't waste time to knock down the man who fell to the ground ,holding his stomachs and groaning in pain.

Anthony and the main boss began to fight, throwing punches at each other,some punches landed on Anthony's face and Anthony was happy to see he was inflicting more damage on the main boss.

Anthony suddenly kicked the man’s calf, as he was blocking punches while kicking the man's calf constantly until the man fell on one knee and before he could react Anthony grabbed his hair and used his knee to hit his nose constantly, while the man was now trying to get Anthony off him.

A guard heard the commotion and opened the door, he saw that Anthony might kill the man, if he didn't intervene.

“Stop! Stop!” The guard yelled, as he saw the man had passed out but Anthony continued his assault while he had this murderous look on his face.

The guard knew he couldn't do this alone,so he called for backup and five other men came into the room and helped get Anthony off the man,but Anthony was holding a fistful of the man's hair in his hands.

Anthony was led into solitary confinement on his first day in prison, because they saw him to be too dangerous as the man he fought with ,was rushed to the hospital.

Anthony was alone in solitary confinement, which had nothing but a toilet and sink and he had a lot of time to think about the situation he found himself in, he could not still wrap his head around what happened.

He angrily began punching the hard wall, as a way to let out his anger at his helplessness and it worked.

Sitting with his hands hugging his knees and his head buried in between the space between his knee and chest, Anthony spent two days in solitary confinement silently crying and grieving the death of his family and feeling like trash ,because this was all his fault.

He didn't know how to forgive himself or how to move on from this.

But then it hit him in his state of hopelessness.

If nothing is done his family's murderers will go away scot free he couldn't let it happen.

If he dies then the memory of his family will die with him.

He wiped away the lone tear that had fallen down from his eyes and git up from the floor he was sitting on.

Since there was nothing else to do, he used the window bars to do pull ups, he exercised everyday and the hard wall was now his punching bag where his punches and kicks landed , it gave him injuries, but that was the last thing on his mind, he was waiting for a way to get out of here.

“I will kill them.”

It was a promise he made to himself.

Anthony was known in the prison as a notorious fighter after ten fights. If you attacked him or insulted him, he would get into a fight and be locked up in solitary confinement and train there, there was no day he didn't train, the sole drive for his harsh training was revenge.

Anthony met a kickboxer,a martial arts master and a black belt grand master in taekwondo, he did them a favor and they trained him in their fighting styles and he was the best student, that was how it was for two years.

Two years into his stay in prison a man came to visit Anthony.

He was taken into a private room with only him and the man there.

The man was sitting waiting for Anthony to come in.

Anthony sat down facing the man.

“I want to make you an offer, work for me and in eight years I will get you out of here instead of staying here your whole life.”The man made an offer that Anthony couldn't refuse.

Anthony agreed immediately, since had nothing to live for and those men came for him in particular ,because they knew he had no close family.

He was taken out from prison to a battleground where he was sent on a different mission.

The man who sent him there was associated with a secret organization in the government that rescues people held hostage and quietly kills off hostile individuals and terrorists.

Anthony, due to the burning rage in his heart ,managed to survive and save a lot of people on his rescue missions and kill each target that was sent his way.

He was unstoppable.

After three years working for the secret organization,making it five years in jail and five more years to work for the organization to gain his freedom, the man who gave him the job came to see him again ,where he was in a resting base after he had completed a rescue mission.

“You have been doing a good job ,so we decided to reward you. I know someone that might get you out of jail sooner, he is working with us, so accept his request.” He informed Anthony.

“Don't ask for any other favors, we did all we can for you.” The man informed him as he left.
