Fiona was the bargaining chip that they used to keep Leon attentive and doing their bidding until they arrived at the compound. All through the drive, Leon couldn't help but wonder how Gideon had found him and with Fiona of all people. "Gideon is freaking coward if he has to drag a poor girl into this," Leon sneered as they parked in front of a large compound and the men hurriedly began to move them down from the van. "A coward you said?!" The leader snapped at Leon. "You can call my boss anything but a coward, do you know how long he took just to make sure he got you? A coward would have grown tired and let it go, but not my boss, no, he's hell bent on taking his revenge," he sneered. Leon scoffed as they dragged him down from the van and shoved him through the small tunnel that led inside the compound. He could hear Fiona whimpering right behind him and for a second, he felt very guilty. As much as he knew that it wasn't his fault she was taken, he still felt responsible f
Xavier slouched on his seat, his left hand clutching a glass of Bourbon. Beside him was one of his trusted security men, looking through the security footage of the past three nights. "I still can't find anything," the man said, shaking his head. Sighing, Xavier nodded at the man that stood beside him, "You said there was someone here to see me?" He asked, his tone a little dull and resigned. The man nodded and bent down to whisper something into his ears. Xavier nodded and asked them to send in the visitor. It was a man dressed in a cloak and thick boots that walked in. He wore a hard look on his face and didn't smile as he walked in. "Is this Professor Xavier's estate?" He asked and Xavier nodded, looking at him warily. The man pulled out a piece of paper and handed it to Xavier but the security man stood up and intercepted, taking the file instead. "It was meant for the professor's eyes alone," the strange man said, glaring at the security man. "In case you haven't n
Leon was at the mansion the next day when the gateman arrived with a message that he had a visitor waiting to see him. Because he had never come to visit nor indeed had anyone come to pay Leon a visit since he started living there, the security man saw it fit to inform Leon first. From his past life, Leon believed that just a few people like Tracy and Fiona knew where he now lived. He has very few friends and very few acquaintances that he knew beyond business meetings that he forced himself to attend at XLT. "Do you know him?" He asked the man who shook his head. "Send him in, I have a meeting at the office in a bit, it might take most of my day. Send him in and let me get that phase done with," he said with an exhausted sigh. The gateman nodded and went off. Shortly after, the door opened and a man that was at least 6"5 walked in, wearing a hoodie and glasses that were far too large to be fashionable. He looked a little like a clown and without being told, Leon could guess
After driving for almost an hour down the street, taking the same turn more than thrice, Hector couldn't help but cast a glance at his master in the backseat just to make sure he was still alright. Although Leon hadn't fallen asleep, he was uncharacteristically quiet and Hector felt quite uncomfortable with the silence. "Do you still need more time to think, master?" He asked and all that Leon did was give him a single nod and he continued down the road. The gas was thankfully not close to being empty and so they continued to drive quite aimlessly down the streets. After many minutes had rolled by with Hector driving in circles and keeping his eyes on him for further instructions and getting nothing, Leon finally told him to stop right in front of a cybercafe and he stepped out of the vehicle. "What do you need?" Hector asked as he stepped out too and ran after him. "Wait in the car, I'll be back soon," Leon said and Hector stopped in his tracks. He didn't like being kept in
Hector had a smirk on his face because he knew what he was capable of. He simply stepped back as Leon hissed and with such fluid motion that the men weren't able to comprehend, he picked up one of them and forcefully slammed him on the hard floor, knocking him out cold. The other man stepped back a little as he saw his mate being taken out without Leon even breaking a sweat. "What did you just do? That was the mistress' favorite! You will pay with your blood!" He snapped and suddenly whistled loudly. Shortly, a gang of men all surrounded the scene. Leon counted up to five men and three more who were coming down different parts of the compound. "You think you're strong?" One of them asked with a nasty glare. "Let's see how you will be able to take all of us out, iron man!" One of the other men mocked as he picked up a hard chunk of wood from the floor and came at him with force. Leon immediately activated the power of the ring and was filled with the strength of a hundred w
Hector looked at the rearview mirror, keeping an eye on his boss and the lady in the backseat. He wondered what had changed Leon's mind and made him take the nasty lady in the car when just a few minutes back he was struggling to take out the vicious men. "Are you going to the building where the messenger is?" Hector asked, looking at Felicia as he spoke. "Yes, but don't worry, I'll not put you at risk," he assured his driver. Hector nodded although he had his own doubts about the lady. "Why are you helping me? I just tried to rip you off everything that Xavier gave to you and yet you're heading to Gideon to help my son," she said, sounding stunned. Leon's eyes were far from her, looking out at the old road as Hector drove down. "Gideon is a man that should be put behind bars, he has done a lot of havoc and he'll do more if he isn't stopped," he said. "How long have you known him for?" Felicia asked as she shook her head bitterly, "I can't believe I didn't know this man
Through the tunnel, Leon and Felicia made their way into the building. It was dark and damp and Leon could scarcely see anything beyond his nose. Memories of his time with Fiona in a similar tunnel in the Xavier estate flashed through his mind. He had to make sure she was safe first before he found a way of dealing with Gideon once and for all. If anything, Fiona had been very helpful and she was quite instrumental to his success and subsequent inheritance. "I can't see anything," Felicia said to him and he held her palms even tighter. She was quaking right in his hands and Leon couldn't help but wonder how desperate Gideon must have been for him to decide to use a woman like Felicia who knew nothing about the world of crime, clearly a mother who was just trying to find some form of excitement on the side. "Do you think there's a particular reason Gideon picked you?" He asked and she paused for a second. Although Leon couldn't see her face, he was sure she was most likely glan
The power of the ancient ring coursed through his veins as he vibrated on the spot. His blood was liquid steel and the deity gave him the power of a warrior. Gideon still had a smile on his face as he took the documents and began to laugh. All his men joined in and created a sick harmony of croaky laughter and cheer. "You remember the night I came to your apartment after Xavier was stupid enough to make you the heir of all his belongings?" He asked. Leon shrugged. Of course he could remember that night. That had been his first experience that convinced him that Gideon wasn't really mentally well. It has been a rather sad discovery because he'd thought that all he had on his hands was possibly a greedy man that wanted everything to himself and didn't want to miss out on the wealth that he'd helped create. After all, the history of Xavier and his supreme messenger was well known across all sides but he never would have guessed that the man was a nutcase too. But then, Gideon had
