[Three Part Main Quest: Ruler of the Forest][First Requirement: Meet with the monster that rules over the forest outside your dungeon.][Second Requirement: Perform the labors requested by the forest elder.][Third Requirement: Claim the title of Forest Elder.][Quest Reward: Unbridled Dungeon][Quest Reward: One with the Forest]These are the quests that Merlin needs to complete. All three of them displayed in front of him as soon as he finished dealing with the pirates that entered his dungeon. The first part is easy enough to do. But things start getting problematic with the second part of the quest until the third.Thankfully, he has an ally whom he can rely on when it comes to matters of the forest. None other than the gifted dark elf that is Sylvie Windsith.“Remind me again why we’re having a stroll in the forest?” The dark elf asked.“We’re looking for the forest elder.” Merlin quickly replied. “Yes well, you see, it just sounds weirder now that you’ve repeated it.”Merlin k
When Sylvie arrived at where Merlin is, she found him covered in dark mana. Creating an aura that spread closely around the demon’s body. A bit loose but it shows more of the control that the demon is capable of. Because the dark elf knows of nobody else who is low leveled that is, at the same time, capable of what Merlin is doing. Unfortunately, she has to stop him from what he’s doing and, this she did by clapping her hands once.Merlin’s aura slowly faded. The eyes of the demon glowed in the neon green color that it has whenever he’s in his [Demon’s Rage] state. But even this slowly faded away as well. Reverting Merlin’s eyes back to their normal color – the same time that the aura disappeared completely.“What’s that about?” Sylvie asked.“Trying to get better at focusing my mana.”“By turning it into an aura?” Sylvie added in a form of question.“Part of it.” Merlin said. “If I can place my mana evenly across my body, I’d be able to go to the next level of my training.”“You know
There was a child.I could’ve sworn I heard a child saying something to me. I can’t understand it though. The words mixed into a mush that I can’t unbridle. And even this brief moment of clarity is quickly robbed from me as my mind sunk into the void. Unable to surface again.………Merlin moved along the lake inside the forest. The water is as clear as it was in the game or maybe even clearer than that. There’s a certain clarity to it that makes some parts shimmer when touched by sunshine. Merlin likes this because, in the game, water like this is potable. It’s clean. If there is anything that goes in and dirties it, as long as it isn’t to a large extent, the new water will wash away the impurities. He followed this for a while. About fifteen minutes to be exact. Until he reached a spot where there aren’t as many trees surrounding him. The perfect spot for him to fight his enemies.“You can come out now.” Merlin said. He’s felt the presence of these creatures before he went deep into
[The Following Day – After the Encounter with the Monkeys]Sylvie’s eyes squinted as she pointed at the item that Merlin’s holding on to.“What the hell is that?” She said in a questioning tone. As if she already knows the answer but refuses to believe that it is the right one. “Oh this?” Merlin looked at the staff on his hand. “I got it from my fight yesterday.”Merlin decided not to show it off when he returned back to the dungeon. He thought that it’d be best to show it to the dark elf the following day because, he also wants to see the kind of reaction she’d be making by seeing it on his hand. And judging by the furrowed brows that have seem to stuck on Sylvie’s face, it’s worth it.“What fight?” The dark elf asked. “You didn’t mention any kind of fighting to me yesterday.”“Do I have to?” Merlin replied.“You know, it doesn’t help that you’re answering my question with another question.” Sylvie said in reply.“Anyway, the staff is a gift because I made them surrender.” Merlin of
After three long days, Sylvie finally finished marking the entirety of the forest. There are carvings on trees placed on every location. With him and Merlin having to use up teleportation scrolls everyday just to get back at these locations and also go home to the dungeon. They can’t leave the place unattended after all since there’s still a chance for them to get attacked, a huge chance at that.Nevertheless, things did go smoothly within these days that passed. Merlin defeated as many monsters as he wanted. Along with this comes the demon’s better understanding of the speech pattern of the monkeys. He can’t use it but, he can at least decipher it based on the sounds they’re making and the actions that are aligned with these. This won’t be a problem if these monsters are in his dungeon. Since they’re allies, Merlin will be able to see a speech screen on top of them every time they talk. Making it easier for him to converse with the creatures. But he’s not planning on placing these m
The forest is located on the northern side. The official name of this place is [Wisp Forest] due to the high number of wisps that thrive in this place. Monsters that aren’t harmful and, at the same time, do not even contribute much experience points. That’s why they are simply left to their own devices. And these creatures come in the form of small, pebble like, orbs that glow in the color of whatever mana it is that’s inherent in them.Although placed on the northern side, the forest is pretty far from both the kingdom of Avarreh and the kingdom of Luminium. That’s why Merlin doesn’t have to worry about getting into conflict with either kingdom. An important thing to note because, the domain sits just at the outskirts of the forest.Fortunately, he and Sylvie didn’t have to walk far. Because of the teleportation locations that they’ve set up, the two are easily able to reach the middle of the forest. And from that point, they continued walking. Until they reached their destination. A
As soon as the meeting with the elder of the forest ended, Merlin and Sylvie went back to the dungeon. There’s a couple of seconds of silence that’s shared between the two of them before Sylvie finally bursted into laughter. Entertained by the recent events that have just transpired.“Man...it really worked the way you said it would.” She said, removing a tear from her left eye.“Was there ever any doubt?” Merlin said in reply. It’s easy to see why the elf would find this whole thing comical. It’s because she hates ents the same way she hates regular elves. Of course the elves are at the top of that hierarchy but she also hates ents all the same. That’s why she’s overjoyed to see that Merlin has tricked the creature; though it isn’t really that hard to do as long as someone knows a certain trait of the ents. These are fair creatures. The ents do not normally hold a
The Scorpion Troupe. This mercenary group is known all over the human continent of Adamus because of one thing, their skills. As a group they have taken down five high level dungeons, having only minimal help from other factions. All by themselves they’ve also killed a lesser dragon, a feat that cannot compare to killing a real dragon but, a feat worth noting nonetheless. They are also faithful to their employers. As long as they get paid properly based on the contract, then they will make sure that whatever they’ve been hired to do gets done. That’s how good they are. In fact, it’s known that all the jobs they accepted have been accomplished. Not a single one has been left unfulfilled which has helped in spreading a positive reputation for them.As the years passed, the group has also created smaller factions connected to them. The main group of the scorpion troupe has been sent on an expedition to the continent of the elves. And while they’re there, the human continent is left wit
