[Azazel Dungeon – Five hours after Merlin left]“Faster guys!” Teach said. “We need to finish this before the boss comes back.”Teach is talking in Kobold language of course. He is a Kobold Worker like the rest. But at the same time he is different because, among them, he’s the only one that received a name. This is important for monsters because there is a big difference between named and name monsters The biggest one is that, a named monster has higher stats compared to an unnamed one.Merlin can’t just provide one whenever he wishes though. In fact he didn’t even know how to bless a monster with a name at first. But his title as [Dungeon Master] helped with this. Allowing him to grant a name to one monster. This being only unlocked recently with the dungeon reaching [Level 2].Other than the stats that Teach received, he also gained a [Kobold Leader] title. Meaning, he is now directly above his subordinates. And the best thing about this is that none of the other kobolds hate him f
[Den of Wolves]“Okay, let me get this straight just so we have everything in order.” Merlin said under campfire. It’s nighttime already. Normally he wouldn’t use fire because it’d attract nearby predators. But from what the elf has told him, there seems to be nothing for him to worry about. Because other than the fact that the nearest wolf nest is nowhere near, this campfire is also built inside a cave – with the elf’s [Field of Invisibility] skill being used.[Skill Name: Field of Invisibility][Skill Type: Active][Mana Cost: 100][Cooldown: 1 Hour][Rank: E+][Information: Generates a circular field of camouflage around a five-meter area. Everything within the skill’s range will turn invisible. Sounds made within the field are also nullified to those outside it.]“You’re saying that you’re able to run away from your team because they basically laid you as bait for the hounds correct?”“Yes. That’s correct.” Sylvie replied. “They can actually take care of the lesser hounds quite ea
[Den of Wolves – Present Day]Merlin and Sylvie quickly made their way through the forest. The biggest influencer of their speed is Sylvie’s elven nature which allows her to commune with nature. This simply means that she can somehow “hear” the forest. She can tell easily where it would be dangerous and where it’d be alright to pass through.Though players dismissed this as something of a hidden passive skill, Merlin knows that this isn’t the case. This is a skill borne from the centuries that the elves spent within the forest. This made them understand the forest better. Moss, mushrooms, dried leaves, they see the same things that everyone else sees. The only difference is that they know what to make of these and are thus more sensitive to details.Utilizing these things, they continued on their way. With some information being exchanged between the two once again. This time concerning the entry of Sylvie’s group inside the [Dungeon Instance].“You want to know how we got here?” The
Sylvie is a traitor. Merlin is sure that she is such because of a lot of contradictions that surrounds her. There is the group that she’s with. Even if she’s cast as a bait and set aside, Sylvie should’ve been able to find a way to get away from the lesser wolves that chased her because she’s an elf. This alone is enough of a justification because, as mentioned, elves can understand the forest. She also has the skill that she showed Merlin. An almost perfect camouflage that even hides sounds. And though scent is not part of it, this won’t be much of a problem if she’s able to mix herself together with plants of a potent enough odor. She didn’t do this and as if on cue, she called for help. Her cry is done on a spot near where Merlin which made it hard not to hear it, especially with how loud it is. That’s just the start. There’s the fact that she has been with her allies for more than a week inside this dungeon. This much can be considered true. And though Merlin began with a hypothes
[Den of Wolves – Present Day]The group that Sylvie left behind continue to journey on their own. There isn’t much progress to what they are doing because of the dark elf’s absence. Evident with the look that’s drawn on everyone’s faces. A static hopelessness like something you’d see from someone who’s given up.“Hey, how much longer do we need to walk Klyre?” Seelie, a blonde-haired priestess, asked. [Character Name: Seelie][Level: 35][Occupation: Priestess][Class: Healer]“Until we’re sure we’re in the right direction.” Sylas responded, a man donned in full armor. With the emblem of a knight embedded on the wrist.[Character Name: Sylas][Level: 50][Occupation: Knight][Class: Dual Blade]These are the same individuals who left Sylvie to die in the forest. Not knowing that all of this is nothing more than parts of the dark elf’s brilliant scheme. One which involved her freedom from slavery and the satisfaction of revenge that comes along with it.“That might take us too long do
Everything makes sense, until they don’t. The thing that happened to Sylas hand and what followed with Brandon are things that should never have even happened. They have a sniper who has a [Detect] skill after all. One which senses if there are any hostile threats nearby. But this skill has one shortcoming – mental fatigue. Although a passive skill, the potency of it actually decreases or increases depending on the mental fatigue of Astrid. This sniper has been walking for more than a week within a [Dungeon Instance] without any end being in sight. He has experienced sacrificing an ally for his own safety. He experienced the shifting of his allies’ attitude due to the same stress. Day in and day out they will fight monsters and all of this will simply repeat the following day. This is enough for Astrid’s mental fatigue to fall below safe levels. Something which the group doesn’t mind that much because they haven’t encountered any truly life-threatening danger within this dungeon. Not
[Past – Sylas’ Pov]I am the strongest. You may think otherwise. You may even argue with me. But it doesn’t matter. Anything you say will simply humiliate you once faced with true greatness such as I – Sylas Wolfhorn. Son of the mighty count Regas Wolfhorn. Heir to the household that produced hundreds of fine warriors, but none of them is as good as me.From an early age I’ve been sent to Genesis City to study. Before reaching sixteen, I was already out of that place. I’m a prodigy after all so it’d be a waste to keep me locked up in such an environment. They all saw my potential for greatness and gave me what I deserved, a place in the ranks of the military.Everyone else thought that it’s because of my family’s connections that I got out of the Academy early. Saying that my father bribed some influential individuals. That’s not true of course. They’re just jealous because they will never be me. They will never have the things I do. Oh and, by the way, I’m also in the process of bec
[Den of Wolves – Present Day]Sylas slowly got up from the ground. His vision is hazy but he could hear the screams of his allies; too loud to be muffled by the ringing in his ears. He doesn’t care about them though. All he cares about is getting back up because, as soon as he’s back on his feet, then he can return the favor to the elf. Cutting her wrists before cutting her down in half. That’s the plan. But things didn’t go as he planned. Just when he’s about to get back up, he could see Sylvie walking towards him. He recognizes her feet and ankles. There are scars on it that he inflicted. A seeming signature that he’s proud of because, every one of these tells him that he owns the body of his slave as well. Though these same feet are now moving towards him to probably end his life.I’m fucked are the words running through his head. Time seemed to move slower as he felt death closing in. That is until the feet stopped moving.“Huh?”Sylas waited for any slight change. This might be
