[Genesis City]Right after seeing what occurs within the dungeon of Azazel, Asther’s secretary - Junrio, arranged a gathering for every adventurer. The general public doesn’t need to be roused of this news. There’s no need to because this will only cause alarm and distress. And these are things that Junrio wants to avoid. After all, there shouldn’t be any cause for this especially since Asther himself will finish the dungeon. There is no doubt in his mind that the city’s lord is capable of doing so. The dungeon is weak, its rank could only make Asther break a sweat at best. That’s why he also doesn’t understand why there’s a need for the city’s lord to join this. But that’s not true. He knows exactly why Asther is joining it – interest.Asther is interested in this dungeon because of the feed that he saw as soon as the Faye created one. That of the screaming adventurers and the brutal killing of the orcs. But most importantly, the taunting that’s made by these same monsters. Recognizi
[Outside Azazel Dungeon – Woodland Forest]A group of around twenty adventurers got an early lead towards the dungeon. Right as soon as the reward money was mentioned, these individuals mobilized themselves. Wanting to get to the dungeon first and, of course, finish it first as well. With the sum that is mentioned, anyone will easily be led to do the same thing as them. In fact, they even spent on teleportation scrolls just so they could reach the middle of the forest right away. Getting them that much closer to the dungeon’s entrance. Now all that’s left is to actually enter it.“Come on guys hurry up!” The leader said to his allies.“Why are you in such a hurry? We’re already ways ahead of the rest.” Another one commented, being just as excited as the leader.“I heard the lord is gonna join as well. Once he enters it’ll take him a couple of hours to catch up to us. We can’t let that happen.” The leader said. “We need that gold.”“Then keep on running!” A third one jokingly said.Mor
[Azazel Dungeon – Present Day]It has been three days since I entered this dungeon. There have been…various things that have happened. Stuff that are heavy for the weak of spirit. I thought I’ve seen it all in my days as an adventurer. Death and, all the gut-wrenching things that comes with it in the battlefield. But this, this is far more. There are worms that carry distorted faces of humans. With eyes melting from the sockets and mouths that drool with excretes. Walls that can see…their eyes coming with every step we take. We tried killing these and destroying the walls. But none of that worked. The eyes would hide behind the walls every time and, we’d be left wasting our energy. There is the distant sound of laughter. That of children that echo throughout these dark and morbid corridors. And the stench…the stench is the worst of it all. Making most of us vomit just from catching a whiff of it for the first time…and no matter what kind of spell we used, this never went away.None of
Five days have passed since the adventurers entered the dungeon. Right after the first two suicides committed, things escalated rather quickly. With more cases of the same act and those of murder also being done. All because the minds of some adventurers have been slowly deteriorating these past few days. Reaching a point where there are those that can’t distinguish friend from foe anymore.Everything continued spiraling out of control from that point onwards. Things only got worse quicker and quicker. With acts of cannibalism and rape being added to the list of stuff that these adventurers have done. All because their mental state has reached its limit. All of this happened without Merlin having to lift a single finger. He’s just there on his throne room. Patiently waiting as the banshees continued their work of rotting the minds of their poor victims. And as mentioned, this went on for five whole days…until Asther finally broke through. It took him some time to understand what’s hap
[Azazel Dungeon – Present Day] Sylvie entered the throne room. A quiet place compared to the rest of the dungeon. The kobolds are busy after all. Doing the construction of the rest of the new facilities, as well as the harvesting of materials that are found within the dungeon. As for Sylvie, she just got back from doing something designated to her as well. It’s not done yet but it’s not like she can also finish this in a couple of hours. That’s why she’s there in the throne room. To take a couple of minutes of productive rest by getting some details from Teach.“Has he woken up yet?” The dark elf asked. She moved to where this person is. Teach is sitting beside a bed where Merlin is lying. The answer to her question is already clear. The demon’s eyes are still shut. But she still hopes that he at least opened them when she was gone doing her work. A hope that is shut down immediately.“No.” Teach said in a low tone. “My lord hasn’t made even a single move since the fight ended.”“Ho
Hey Junrio. If you’re reading this letter, that means that I fucked up. I fucked up hard. I know that there are a lot of things that can happen in a dungeon. I know I’m not invincible as well. One way or another, there is a chance that I’d die. Especially because of this eagerness of mine to always be in the front lines. That’s why I need you to hold me back every time.I know that’s not possible. You’re my secretary and I am the lord of this city. There will be times when I simply won’t allow you to get in my way. That is the kind of love hate relationship that we have. It’s frustrating for you, I know. Not to worry though. In my death, I leave the ruling of Genesis city to you, my dear secretary. You’ve been more of it than me anyways so I believe that role should be yours to begin with. I won’t take no for an answer as well. This is my last will and testament so you better respect it as my secretary. Please guide the city the way you see fit. And whatever it is that would eventua
News of Asther’s death is made public a day after Junrio received the news. The whole of Genesis City is shocked as much as it is overwhelmed with sadness and grief. Asther was a good lord to them after all. One who treated the city with justice and fairness. Though the system isn’t perfect, there is little dissatisfaction to the way he runs things. That is how effective he is as a leader and, that is why there is much grieving in his passing.A great parade will be held in honor of the late lord of the city. There will be a monument of him built in the middle of the city’s square as well. Other events are also being held in honor of Asther. With a whole week being set to be the duration of the ceremony. Though this isn’t something that Arthur and his gang cares about.“What the hell is with that dungeon!”Arthur slammed his hands on the table, expressing his frustration right away. Some coffee spilled from Elliot’s cup as well as on Claire and Morgause’s tea. They are all drinking a
A shadowy figure entered a dimly lit room. The only source of light is the moon’s glow and even this offers but haunting silhouettes of everything that’s within that closed space. A perfect setup for the two individuals who can’t allow themselves to be seen by the light of day.“How did it go?” The person looking out the window asked.“Terrific.” Is the sarcastic remark of the second one. “They’re all as crap as I remember them to be.”“You make it sound like you haven’t even been part of the same group.” “I was. But then I’m reborn. Now I’m a higher lifeform compared to them.”“Whatever helps you sleep at night.” The person facing the window simply said. “Now, for the actual answer to my question.”“The chemical worked like you said it would. They all got paralyzed in a matter of seconds.” “Wonderful.” The window man said dryly. “And the bait?”“Sleeping peacefully in the lion’s den.” The other one replied. “I used hypnosis to force the desire of entering the dungeon inside his hea
