Merlin began his journey as the owner of a dungeon. He still hasn’t forgotten about his revenge but there’s one thing he realized. He doesn’t want to kill them all right away. The feeling of pleasure he got from taking down Gerald made him realize this. That he should be intimate with the death of every member of Avalon. Meaning, he needs to give each of them a unique death. This is the only way he’ll finally be at peace.

That being said he focused his energy and resources into starting up his dungeon. He isn’t an idiot to just run into Genesis City thinking that he’d be able to get what he wants. The reason why every player begins in this place is because it boasts of a high level of security.

Owing to the fact that powerful mages worked together to fortify its defenses, there is a barrier that protects this place which is comparable to the strength of Merlin’s [Aegis]. This makes it impregnable to monsters and, since Merlin is now half monster himself, he doubts if he can even pass
