Teach can feel power coursing through his body. The effect of the subspace caused this. The boost on his stats which gives him an edge against his opponent who feels the same amount, but as a drain in his powers.
“You should’ve killed me when you had the chance. Now all that’s left for you is death.” Teach said. His real weapon now on his hands.
This is also the reason why Merlin is so confident that Teach won’t die. He has an overpowered weapon with him now. A spear that will not break in the hands of Teach, nor will it work against his favor. It is his own body, his own blood. And this thing continued feeding the knight with mana. Drained from the surroundings where the subspace has been generated.“What makes you think that you can win against me?” Wick asked.Unfortunately, the subspace in itself is not enough to weaken the will of the mercenary to fight. Wick has the same posture aMerlin and Sylvie followed in the cave as soon as Teach came out of it. The hybrid knight won and this caused a little exchange to go on between the demon and the dark elf. Something which Teach wasn’t able to see because he went straight back inside.“What’s up with him?” Sylvie asked.Merlin already has an idea on what this might be. The knight is fine after all. His body parts are intact; none of them are missing. He also defeated all the enemies which is shown by how he got out of the cave – the signal that he finished the fight. There are two other reasons that might cause Teach’s current mood.First is that he can’t find the treasure anywhere. Anyone would feel down if they can’t find the fruits of their labor anywhere nearby. But that can’t be the case for Teach since he’s never been a creature concerned with these worldly things. Though he’d still get affected by it in connection to his relationship with Merlin. He doesn’t want to disappoint the demon who is his lord and maste
The second and third labor aren’t as problematic as the first. One of these simply required the planting of more trees to the nearby vicinity outside the forest. The reason for this is because the ent wanted to spread its influence further. As the keeper of the forest, its eyes and ears are only limited to, well, the forest. That’s why what’s outside of it is unseen to him. This is a problem because the elder can’t leave the forest as well. He needs to remain there, otherwise a new elder will be appointed by the forest seed. This is an automatic event and, the creature chosen will gain immense strength and wisdom as well. Meanwhile, the current elder will be stripped of these things. That is why such a position is held dearly. Nobody can argue that this is the dream of a lot of monsters. To be chosen by a forest as its elder. Only monsters can gain this position and whatever race claims it will inevitably control the entirety of the forest as well. Then there’s the third labor that’s
The manticore is a woman. A six-foot-tall muscular woman. With tan skin and golden-brown hair. Her eyes are of a gleaming yellow, with the pupils resembling that of a tiger’s. Instead of being fully gilded with armor, she lets most of her upper body show. With the only thing covered being the part of her breasts – gilded with fine armor. This isn’t because she wants to hide her chest but because she’s protecting a vital part of her body – her heart. If not for this weakness, she’d let her upper body show entirely. She doesn’t care about stuff like nudity after all. All the manticore cares about is battle and whoever it is that can quench her desire for it. That being said, she also has her lower body covered with leather pants. Breathable and stretchable and, is made from one of the strongest monsters that she defeated. Hence ensuring the durability of the said pants. Completing the look is her black combat boots. Matching the color of her upper armor, as well as her leather pants.
Merlin sat in the middle of a wide and empty room inside his own dungeon. This place has been fortified so that all outside noises is muted entirely. And even sounds made inside do not echo, nor make too much sound. There is a peace here. A calm. And penetrating it is the chaos that Merlin brings.Sylvie entered that room and she can already feel something strange about it. The demon doesn’t seem to notice her presence but that cannot be farther from the truth. Even with his eyes closed and his back facing the dark elf, Sylvie can still somehow feel that Merlin is looking at her. Making her feel a spine-tingling sensation that quickly rose in her body. Then came the unexpected. All of a sudden, the room seem to begin getting sucked in by him. Not literally, no. This happened with the dark mana that was seemingly spread across the room. One which is too thin that the dark elf failed to notice it. But now that Merlin is reclaiming it, the mana is easier for her to see. It’s not an easy
[Five Days Later][Wisp Forest – Nighttime]The blood moon rose at the sky. An ominous and eerie presence when night finally came. With it comes the howling of the wolves and the laughing of the goblins. The screams of the dying and the sound of flesh being gnawed. The whole forest has turned into something unbecoming. Drunk with the color that the moon bathes it in…and illuminated by this same moon is the manticore, Samira. The creature floats above the sky. Its golden eyes changed color. The same color as the moon and, its mane has changed as well. Donning a darker shade of yellow. With streaks of red mixing within it. With this comes an aura of crimson mana. Not because she wants to release it but because she has too much of it. There is too much mana that it can’t fit in her body anymore. And more of it just keeps pouring out.“This is it Dirth.” She told her attendant as they both looked down on the forest. “This is the day I force that ent to fight me head on.”The goblin shaman
The clash of mana brought a renewed passion for Samira. Her eyes seemingly gleamed in excitement – the thrill of the hunt that cannot compare to anything else. And her prey for this evening has shifted completely. Not the ent who rules over the forest but this demon whose mana has clashed with hers. The first exchange between the two ended in a seeming draw. There is a graze that it left on Samira’s cheek but this got healed right away. Regenerating through one of her multiple passives that has been acquired from eating her prey. No matter what species these may be.Just like her, there is no damage sustained by her opponent. The armor of the demon seem to have kept it from getting a couple of scratches and, the face of the demon doesn’t have a single wound on it as well. This is a good start for Samira. Clashing their mana and not getting damaged is the least that her opponent can do to prove that he is in a standing to entertain
[Skill Name: Mana Drain][Skill Type: Active][Grade: D][Information: Drains 2% of a single target opponent’s overall mana every 5 second. This is converted to the caster’s own mana. This can only happen when the mana of the caster comes into contact with the intended target.][Information: The skill runs for 10 seconds and then goes into cooldown for another ten seconds.]This is the skill that Merlin used in the fight. A skill that he bought in the shop to ensure that he’ll gain a higher chance of winning. It may look like a simple skill but its efficiency cannot be doubted. Since the skill only drains a small portion of Samira’s mana, she doesn’t feel it happening. What’s more, even as the skill goes on cooldown, Merlin can continue draining the mana of his opponent with the use of an afterimage. As for how he’s doing it, Merlin covered the whole field with his dark mana. It’s the same trick that he showed to Sylvie but a more refined version of it. Caused by the fact that he also
Merlin continued the fight against the manticore without a second of hesitation. He can’t afford to have something like this. It will only breed trouble for him because once he begins thinking that the manticore is superior to him, then he’d already admit that he’s lost against it.It’s true that the manticore is stronger in terms of raw power. But they aren’t merely exchanging blows with each other. There are other variables to consider. And as far as battle strategy and wit is concerned, Merlin outclasses the manticore so badly that it won’t even be considered a fair fight anymore. That’s just the thing though. A battle involves multiple facets and the winner is usually the one who can capitalize on the most ones. Adding to one more element that plays a vital role in these fights as well – luck. But Merlin isn’t planning on relying on something as half assed as this concept. He has neve relied on luck and he won’t start doing so now. Though it can be said that meeting [World’s End]
