CHAPTER 09

A heavy truck fully loaded with second-hand clothes stopped in the outskirts of the city. Children and adults swarmed in and emptied the truck in a matter of seconds.

Among those who obtained clothes for themselves, Justin was also there. He managed to snatch three pairs of clothes, but one was a woman's, so he gave it away to a needy lady.

They asked the same woman for towels before putting on the remaining two pairs. They were just simple T-shirts and jeans. Nothing too fancy.

Myles had removed his underwear and tossed it away.

“Why did you throw it away?” asked Justin, unable to control his curiosity.

“Isn’t it obvious?”

“No, it’s not.”

“These pants are too tight,” Myles complained after putting the jeans on. “How’s air going to pass through the pants at this rate?”

“Heh, why do you need air to pass through your pants?” Justin chortled.

“To keep your hair and skin healthy,” Myles replied. “And this is also highly uncomfortable. It’s too tight for me.”

“Well, if you call this tight, I wonder how you’ll feel about yoga pants.”

“Yoga what?” an image flashed in Myles’ mind, and he shook his head in disgust. “You call those pants? They won’t allow the blood to freely flow in your legs. You may become an eunuch if you’re not careful.” In his past world, even the underwears were loose and comfortable, so air could freely flow in and out and not let the private parts boil. It was common sense there, but in this world, it was lacking?

“I never wore them, though,” Justin stated in a cheeky tone. “I don’t like all the curves in my ass being seen by others, but I don’t mind seeing other women’s, haha.”

Myles seemed shocked. “Y-You sound like a pervert of the highest order.”

“Am I?” Justin laughed out loud.

“I wasn’t praising you.”

“I know,” Justin laughed again.

Myles could only shake his head. He looked around and saw the people wearing shorts, and it seemed quite weird to him.

The people in the streets began to make way. A flying palanquin slowly approached these two, with Kong closely following closely behind the vehicle.

Emery, a womanly-looking man stepped out, his face covered in a lot of makeup and black lipstick, and he was wearing nothing but a knicker below. The people began to praise his beauty, but he seemed more interested in observing Myles’ handsome features.

“I came here with the intention of breaking your bones, but you’re too special to do that,” Emery spoke in a sultry tone.

Kong looked shocked. “S-Sir, Emery, that’s not what we talked about.”

Ellis glanced over his shoulder. “Are you questioning my decision, dear?”

Kong swallowed his breath and shook his head before lowering his posture. Emery was a Master Beta mage. Even if Kong had a thousand lives, he wouldn’t be able to defeat him.

“Now then…” Emery looked to his front. However, Myles was already walking away. “Didn’t you hear me, dear? I want you to work under me. I’ll pay you really well.”

While his offer was tempting, even Justin could tell that Emery obviously had ulterior motives. Emery was a male who was into males. Since Myles didn’t seem interested, Justin didn’t say a word, either.

Seeing Myles still ignoring his words, Emery frowned. “You asked for this.” He slightly raised his hand. “Now, witness my power, and be baffled.” The ring on his hand sparkled, and almost every person in the vicinity was hypnotized by the invisible waves created by it.

Justin also looked like he was possessed by something, given how his facial muscles weren’t moving even a bit.

Emery casually said, “Come and sit in the palanquin with me, dear.” Emery told Myles, expecting him to follow his command without question.

“Hmph,” Myles snorted. “You try to seize my mind with such a lousy skill? Know your place, trash.” He waved his hand and dispelled his control over the citizens, bringing their senses back to this world.

Emery was shocked, but he angrily howled. “Invisible Judgment.”

Invisible punches formed in thin air and attacked Myles from one direction.

“Begone,” he uttered a word, and not just the invisible punches but Emery also was sent out of existence. Emery’s presence was completely gone, and nobody could tell what exactly happened to him. Kong was shitting bricks at this point, realizing that he messed with the wrong person. Even Justin looked shocked. He didn’t expect Myles to deal with a Master Beta mage like he was nothing. Just what did he do? Where has Emery gone? Tensions were rising, and nobody dared to even murmur. Silence ruled the vicinity.

“That palanquin looks decent,” Myles remarked. “Let’s make use of it.”

“Whew,” Justin breathed better now, but then he also got excited because he had always wanted to ride a flying palanquin. He excitedly climbed the vehicle and sat beside Myles. Justin had some experience flying drones, so it didn’t take long for him to fly away.

“Hahaha,” Justin loved the view of the city from the sky. “Don’t know why, but whenever I reach heights, something stirs in my crotch. Is it just me, or do other people have it, too? What about you, Myles? Did you ever feel that way?”

“Not that I remember, but I don’t think it’s unusual—watch out!” Myles yelled, and a fraction of a second later, a missile-like fire energy struck the palanquin and destroyed it into pieces.
