CHAPTER 206

In the sheep’s ward.

Penny and Elder John were repairing broken homes together. With Penny’s ability, she was able to carry heavy objects and place them where they needed to be placed, thus making the work easier.

“I’m sorry, John,” Penny apologized after seeing John struggling to work. He was sweating and panting from overexerting himself. Even his back hurt. “I couldn’t bring a vehicle in time. Now, the security will be too tight for us to travel safely.” She had counted on buying a vehicle from a friend who was a woke-animal, but contrary to her expectations, her friend didn’t give her the vehicle.

“It’s okay. You’ve done what you could,” John said.

Just then, Luke landed not far from them and kept looking around. Seeing the tall woke-wolf, John rushed over. Penny recognized Luke straight away, though she had no idea until now that Luke lost both of his hands.

“How many died in this ward, John?” Luke asked.

“Thankfully, none,” John said tensely.
