“Die!” The boss frog swiftly thrust his dagger, but it barely missed Myles’ throat. However, at the same time, Myles’ ankle struck the same location as before: the ribs. And the cracks grew, causing multiple ribs to break. “Ngh!” The boss frog felt air escaping his lungs as a great pain gripped his chest.

Myles threw a punch, forcing the boss frog to counter with the dagger, but Myles withdrew his punch at the last second and launched another kick. It landed well; however, the boss frog grabbed and locked his leg between the arm and torso.

Myles used his support and threw another kick from the opposite side. This time to the face. Though the boss frog defended it with one hand, the strike still hit his head and made his whole brain buzz. He was forced to let go of Myles’ leg. (To think I fell for a feint…) His pride was hurt much more now.

Myles didn’t give him the time to breathe. He came swinging his fist big-time, getting an immediate reaction from the pissed-off boss who swiped hi

The guard sitting outside the sewage tunnel was yawning. He looked in Ria’s direction. She was sitting under a tree shade, seemingly meditating.“It’s been more than a day, Miss. He’s probably dead, so I think it’s better you leave,” the guard said, but she didn’t respond. (My shift will end soon, so why should I care?)Just then, Ria stood.(Is she leaving?) The guard wondered, and then he heard footsteps coming from inside the tunnel. He quickly stood and grabbed his spear. It could be a human or a monster, so he was ready to fight if needed.Moments later, Myles entered his view. Moreover, he had a yellowish energy glowing around him. “This…” his eyes bulged open. “It can’t be… that’s the dungeon energy enveloping you. Don’t tell me… y-you conquered the dungeon all by yourself?”“I was wondering why it stuck to me, but can you explain what’s happening to me?” Myles asked politely.“Y-You don’t know?” The guard looked bewildered. “When a person conquers a dungeon alone, a part of th

Dungeon Bureau was the public organization that managed the dungeons on behalf of the government.Though the guilds had great power in the city, they still didn’t have as much authority as the Dungeon Bureau whose members wouldn’t necessarily enjoy very many privileges as those of the members of private guilds like the Dawn guild for instance. The Dungeon Bureau managed everything regarding the dungeons from allocating dungeons to different guilds and overseeing the progress, collecting taxes, importing and exporting business and so on and so forth.About an hour after Myles had exited the D-rank dungeon, one recruiter from the bureau arrived at the Dawn guild. After stepping out of his Lamborghini, he looked at the Dawn guild with disgust. “I just happened to be nearby, so I volunteered to come here, but this place really has become quite desolate.” With slicked back hair, he looked sharp and handsome. He lit up a cigar and entered the guild.Sercy saw him and frowned. The dragon emb

Venture City was made of 52 districts, and every district generally had its own trash street where all the garbage would be collected, and the mages from different guilds would take turns to burn the trash. It was the Dawn guild’s turn this time. Actually, another guild had pushed it on the Dawn guild on purpose.Sercy, with her ability, could burn the trash into ashes with her flaming ability. However, because of her pride, she didn’t accept the cleaning job. Still, after Myles had taken the job, she changed her mind.If someone who wasn’t even part of the guild was willing to clean up the trash, what should a senior guild member like her do?Wanting to set an example, she rushed over to Trash Street first. However, to her bewilderment, the street looked very clean. There were no signs of ashes, either.“Who cleaned up the street?” she asked a local guard that was guarding the neighboring street. The guard explained a long story, but at the end, Sercy realized that even the guard did

“Y-You bitch!” Robert, the leader of that little group, barked. “Do you have any idea who we are?”“If even you don’t know who you are, then how will I know?” Ria coldly replied. “But that aside…” she started walking toward them. “For you guys to laugh at such a vulgar comment about a woman’s breasts, I guess you never drank your mother’s milk, ah?”“Shut the fuck up,” Robert lunged at her and threw a punch. “Boulder Breaking Fist!”Ria casually blocked his attack by grabbing his fist, leaving Robert in a bit of a shock. Ria swiftly slapped him in the face so fast he couldn’t even cover his cheek in time. Robert’s cheek turned red pretty fast. “Apologize, and I’ll let you walk away.”Robert ground his teeth. Everybody in the market was looking at him and was whispering this and that. His pride was hurt big-time, but realizing the gap in power, he lowered his head and said, “Sorry.”“I can’t hear you.”“Sorry,” Robert raised his voice.“I can’t quite hear you.”“I’m sorry!” Robert yell

“Y-You don’t want to join the guild?” Sercy’s eyes almost bled even though Myles never shouted or anything. “P-Please tell me you’re kidding. I let you take on three missions from our guild even though you didn’t join the guild. Is this how you are going to repay us?”“T-That’s…” Myles frowned. “You can take the reward money. All of it. I cleared a D-rank dungeon, and I even brought some weapons out with me. You can take all of it.”Sercy’s face was filled with anger. “How do I look to you? You think I’ll take money that belongs to you? How would I be able to sleep if I steal your money? I wouldn’t even get forty winks, I’m sure.”“Then what should we do?” Myles was at a loss for words.“Just join the guild as you said you would,” Sercy softly said and tried to smile. “The Dawn guild is no longer enjoying even a hundredth of its former glory… but it still used to be one of the top three guilds in the country until a few years ago. The dozen men had monkey badges on their chests suggesting that they were all members of the Greed guild. There were letter and number tags hanging from those badges, and these letters indicated their level and number indicated their stage.Robert was also among them. He was an Adept D-ranker. So his badge had the letter D and the number 3 added to it as D3 meant Adept D-ranker.D5 meant Novice D-ranker.D4 meant Apprentice D-ranker.D3 meant Adept D-ranker.D2 meant Expert D-ranker.D1 meant Master D-ranker.D0 meant Veteran D-ranker.D* meant Ace D-ranker.Among the twelve, the highest was an Expert D-ranker.“We only came here for that bitch,” Robert growled in frenzy. “Give her to us, and we’ll spare your guild.”“Spare our guild?” Sercy’s soft expression hardened. “You think 12 chicks that are struggling to go past the D-rank can take on the Dawn guild?”“Heh, your guild doesn’t even have any dungeon missions to do,” Robert blurted. “When was the last time your guildmaster showed

The Dungeon Bureau was a large organization with many divisions. All worked together to keep the city safe and peaceful by systematically controlling the dungeons through venerers. However, most of these workers were arrogant and looked down on the common population and even the low-ranked venerers or guilds. So, Sercy told Myles and Ria in advance to not feel offended or annoyed if they were treated poorly. As Myles followed Sercy on foot, he observed the city and saw that it was much different from other cities he had been to in this world.“Back in Cobra city, it’s pretty difficult for common citizens to come across these crystals,” Myles said, “but in this city, it seems the exact opposite. There are a lot more mages here. And they are even selling weapons outside.”“Yes, but the star crystals and any good weapon is still controlled by the bureau,” Sercy said. “They sell them for abnormal prices, so buying from the bureau is not possible unless you’re either filthy rich or you’re

Explain more.”Biskie was startled.Myles had specifically told them to keep their pasts hidden for their own good.“Uh, it was nothing. He used to exercise a lot in the past, but now, he’s become rather lazy,” Biskie replied, laughing embarrassedly.“Do you see cauliflowers in my hair?” Sercy hissed at her. “It’s obvious that you’re lying.” She then shifted her gaze to Ria. “What are you guys hiding from me? Before the tornado grew large and more powerful, Myles also waved his hand as if he was pulling the curtain aside. The tornado dissipated pretty fast.Sercy and others didn’t quite understand how Myles did it, but Glint, Judas, and Wise Servant saw it.“W-What happened?” Biskie was utterly clueless.Ria took a couple of seconds to realize it as he remembered Myles’ words.Vera had four stages of manipulation: flesh, water, wind, and soul.Did Myles just undo the tornado with his vera?Sercy knew this was possible to do with vera, but it was many times harder to cancel an attack than to cast one.So, she didn’t think Myles used Vera. After all, it would take years of consistent focus and dedication to master different levels of vera.Someone who looked as young as Myles couldn’t possibly be possessing such skill, Sercy thought.“I see,” Wise Servant’s expression changed. “You’re not just some random brat. She couldn’t calm herself down. But then, Myles put his hand on her shoulder. She didn’t know what he did, but her heart beat slowed down.“Jelly Shock!” Aero released his electric attack, but Wise Servant dispersed it with her wind ability.“Don’t struggle,” she put invisible pressure on Aero’s body, which made him feel like his eyes might pop out, and his lips would get ripped.Dusty, however, stayed silent as if he had already given up any hope on escaping.Wise Servant closed her fist and then turned to face the fellow humans.“Give me one reason why I should spare some mercy on you guys for chatting with the monster-kind?” she asked. “How can you p

I didn't have any other choice!” Dusty defended himself. “I was forced to work for these humans!”“Shame on you! Some automated machine guns recognized this intruder and shot at it, but Aero was able to easily slip past the bullets and flew away into the distance, covering a mile per second.Wise Servant and Sweet Beggar stepped out of the explosion, and Wise Servant sucked in the explosion and contained it in her single hand and squashed it into nothing. The compressed flames no longer existed as a candle light would turn off.“Are you going to go after that thing, or do you want me to go instead?” she asked him.“You’re the wiser one,” Sweet Beggar picked his teeth. “So you should go, since you decided to let that little ant go.”“I thought he might lead us to the one that escaped last time,” she rep

She had been trying to win just one game of chess against him for so long. I’m sure his liver and other organs are not healthy. We need a proper health potion that can improve his health significantly. And Master Glint also needs to drink a health potion because he’s not eating properly.”“His daughter died long ago, so why is he still depressed?” Ria asked.Sercy glanced at her with a bit of a surprised look. “You lack emotional depth. Were you not raised by your parents?”Ria frowned. “Do I have to be raised by my parents to know a father’s love?”“...Not really,” Sercy said. “Some lives can be explained by pen, but some… only by pain.
