CHAPTER 29

Normally, mages from other cities wouldn’t be permitted to go higher than the 600th floor, but because Verella wanted to meet Dr. Dave and paid 1 million dollars for his appointment, she was directly taken to the 998th floor.

It was full of robots doing research on various things.

Verella and Myles were told to kill time in the waiting room, as Dr. Dave had gone outside. The television was playing, and Verella was sucked right into a football match, and she started cheering for one side.

The entire room was made of glass, including the flooring. Myles tapped twice on the glass wall and nodded once. “It’s durable.” He could see a part of the city and the sea from up there. Most of the city, however, was obstructed by the clouds as he was thousands of meters high from the ground. Wanting to explore more views, he stepped out of the waiting room.

“Sir, you should stay inside the waiting room until Dr. Dave returns,” a mechanical voice of a robot guard rang.
