Smith watched everyone as they grumbled angrily. He didn't want to be blamed but wanted to be the one to pay his bills. He was surprised Damson could offer to pay for his food.

If he could decide to pay for his food, that means he has the money. But how? He was confused.

The waiter collected Damson's card and processed the payment. It was successful. Everyone was surprised and stunned. They didn't expect it to work. Damson collected his card and walked out of the hotel.
