The battle raged on around the palace, yet those in the ballroom remained in grave danger. Most of the guests had already fled. The intruder seemed unbothered by their retreat. His focus remained fixed on the Crown Prince and his guards.

The room had fallen into complete silence; no one was making the first move.

"Just who is this? Why do they have to come now of all times?" Eron gritted his teeth in frustration. This was one of the rare occasions when the palace’s defenses were comparatively weak.

A series of unforeseen crises across the kingdom had drawn the Swords—those who acted as the Royal Family's pillars and handled threats of this level—far away. The nearest Sword would still need several minutes to arrive.

Even beyond the Swords, many of the palace’s finest fighters were absent, spread thin by the kingdom’s growing issues.

‘If only those great families would step in, we wouldn’t have to dispatch so many of our own forces. But this seems too deliberate. The timing is too per

Before he could fully comprehend the situation, Royal Guards surrounded him, relaying the unthinkable—an attack on the Royal Palace. This was the first time something like this had happened since his reign. ‘They dare to insult me like this,’ he thought, his fists clenching so tightly that his knuckles turned white. His fury simmered beneath the surface, threatening to boil over. Sensing her husband’s turmoil, Queen Cecile reached for his hand, wrapping her delicate fingers around his. She offered no words, but the silent gesture spoke volumes, grounding him amidst the storm of emotions. After waiting a little for Elora and her guest, the attack on the main hall happened less than a minute after she left with Celestia. The room fell quiet as a young man dressed in armor addressed the

  • The Successor System    Strange Attribute

In a city not far from the palace, a lone silhouette perched on the edge of a towering building. The figure had two massive swords strapped to his back, their weight seemingly inconsequential. “The palace is under attack?” he muttered, his voice laced with faint surprise. A smirk curled his lips. “Give me five minutes.” A crackling energy began to surge around him, and his demeanor shifted dangerously. “It must be those guys. Perfect timing,” he said, his tone alive with menace. “I was just getting bored.” *** Back at the palace, in front of Prince Erwin’s chamber, a tense standoff unfolded in the large dim hallway. Seven royal guards stood at attention, their eyes fixed on a figure cloaked in black and white. Despite his unassuming posture, the air around him felt heavy with danger. This was definitely one of the intruders. ‘I couldn’t even sense him until she came this close. This is bad,’ the head guard thought, his gaze narrowing. ‘He’s no ordinary enemy. He might be beyon

The three guards attacked with fierce determination, each moving in sync to maximize their chances. The A-rank with regeneration abilities charged head-on, his dual aura-coated katanas flashing under the dim light. His strikes were relentless, each swing aimed at vital areas. Yet, as expected, his blades passed straight through her, finding no purchase. The other two guards flanked her, the fire mage launching streams of searing flames while the teleportation user darted in and out, attempting surprise strikes. Their combined efforts should have overwhelmed any opponent, yet she remained untouched. Her form flickered almost lazily, her exhaustion apparent in the way she moved, yet none of their attacks landed. “Damn it!” The fire mage hissed, unleashing a massive fireball. It exploded on impact, filling the hallway with smoke and heat. But as the dust settled, she stood there, completely unharmed, her black and white cloak barely ruffled. “Are you done?” she muttered, sounding more

  • The Successor System    Despite the Sacrifice

The head guard stood alone now as the other guards left stayed out of what was to come. His body tense as he gazed at the cloaked figure standing amidst the crumpled bodies of his comrades. His chest tightened as he recalled the brutal efficiency with which she had dispatched the others. Blood pooled across the polished floor, but the guard forced himself to focus. They hadn’t fought in vain. Their sacrifice had revealed something important: her ability wasn’t invincible.‘Attacks over a certain strength activate her counter,’ he thought, his grip on his sword tightening. ‘But if I can keep my strikes just below that threshold… she’ll have to dodge. And I can land a hit. I hope this is right.' The woman tilted her head, her bored expression unchanging despite the carnage around her. "What the hell are you thinking?” she asked flatly, her voice laced with exhaustion. She wasn't expecting her ability to be figured out so soon with these little casualties. The regeneration guy was truly

He could feel the intense mana emanating from up ahead—proof that the fight had begun.‘Did we really have to come? I can tell the guards fighting the intruders are strong. They should be able to handle it,’ Art thought as they neared their destination. ‘Well, no harm in spectating a bit of action.’Moments later, they arrived, slightly out of breath from the constant running. But the scene before them was not what they expected.Blood pooled across the floor, bodies scattered like discarded dolls. At the center of the carnage stood a lone woman. Not far from her was a man, his face twisted in disbelief.‘Why does he have such a silly expression?’ Art wondered before realization struck. ‘Oh, she’s the princess. Now that I think of it, this was a dumb move. I should’ve stopped her from coming. That guy is definitely cu

Three minutes...That's all it took her to defeat them all. And it lasted this long only because of the S-rank guard.Except for him, Art wasn’t sure if any of the rest were alive. At this point, he was sure that he had made the wrong decision. He could die here.‘Dammit,’ the head guard was barely hanging on to his consciousness. He had many injuries, including a missing arm. The defeat was certain when he lost his right arm in the first attack. He believed that her ability activated after a threshold was passed. What he didn’t expect was that if you go below that threshold, her abilities also activate. So his attack was lower than the threshold, causing the center to take effect. Her abilities were just too broken. That was the major reason why the strength difference among those of the same rank existed. And he was on the weaker end of S-ranks.He had no chance from the beginning. After that, the rest can pretty much be guessed."I'm sorry," he muttered to Art. He had failed his w

"Let's begin by seeing how much you can summon."She stretched out her hands, and after a brief distortion in space, a teddy bear appeared in her grasp.Valor’s lips twitched slightly at the sight. "Don't tell me this is it?""It is," Caitlyn replied truthfully, causing him to facepalm. "But I think you're jumping to conclusions. Tera here is very strong. Let me show you."Caitlyn poured some of her mana into the teddy bear. Almost immediately, it began growing in size, its form shifting as it developed a faint level of consciousness. Its growth stopped at ten feet, making it tower over Valor."I guess it's not that bad after all," he muttered. "Is there anything else you can summon?""No," she admitted. "It's only Tera."Valor let out a sigh. "At least it'

She was pretty sure it had been referring to Valor—after all, he was the only male soul summoner in the entire school.Ultimately, she found him seated alone in a secluded building, his posture slumped, a defeated expression clouding his face.Well, considering he had actually been defeated two days ago, it wasn’t all that surprising. He was so lost in thought that he only noticed her when she got very close. His gaze shifted toward her, his brows furrowing. "Who are you?" he asked, frowning."Uh—sorry to bother you. My name is Caitlyn Slerh. I'm a summoner, also in the first year." She figured he wouldn’t recognize her since he rarely attended classes. I need to tackle my problem if I want to keep up with him. Please he

  • The Cost of Escape

*Pant**Pant**Pant*Art slowly brought his breathing under control. He had been so close to dying once again. He placed a hand on his damp, bloodied chest. He had managed to escape by using the space swap attribute he copied to switch places with the clone he left in the forest. Normally, the space swap attribute didn’t work over such long distances, but it works specially well with the clone attribute since the clone carried the same mana signature as him. So, It was successful—though at an immense cost. The technique had drained a large amount of his mana, leaving his MP low. He had also timed it as perfectly as he could, but she had been too fast, managing to partially pierce him before the switch. If he had been even an instant slower, he would be dead by now."I need to leave," he muttered, pushing himself up and staggering away. This place had nearly killed him twice—he had no intention of returning.Art navigated through the forest, even though he had no real idea where he wa

Very powerful.Fighting was out of the question."Is something wrong?"Another voice drifted in.'Wait… there’s two of them?' Art’s panic grew, now visible on his face. 'I didn’t even notice either of them…'"Yes. Someone’s here," the woman responded, narrowing her eyes at him. "Though I’m still debating whether he’s here on purpose… or if he’s just lost. Because coming here at that level of strength would be incredibly stupid."Art didn’t even have the luxury of feeling insulted. His mind was working at full speed, trying to figure out how to leave here alive. The second figure—the male—arrived at the scene, his gaze settling on Art.His eyes had an eerie, faint blue glow, and like the woman, he bore those same strange inscriptions. Art carefully navigated the forest, mindful not to lose his way.He had planned ahead before now, placing the teleportation circle in a spot that would make this journey easier. After a few minutes, he arrived at the area where he had once fought seventeen D-rank beasts. Much of the mess had been covered by vegetation and nature, but the site was still recognizable.A good sign—he was on the right track. Before long, he reached the stream where he and Asura had fought. It was just as beautiful as before, though he had no time to admire it.‘I believe it was there.’ His gaze settled on the tree where she had told him to meet her. Without hesitation, he headed in that direction. Then, he noticed something."Hmm?"Looking up, he spotted several beasts perched in the trees, staring down at him. They were D-rank beasts, clearly hungry, but none of them dared to move closer—let alone attack.Their instincts and intelligence warned them otherwise.Art ignored them and continued walking.Afte

  • Out of the Academy

Two days later, A girl with bright pink, pigtailed hair leaned against a wall, her arms crossed. Seated beside her was a black-haired boy with a scarred cheek."You're telling me he's gotten that strong in just a few months?" Karen, the number one Elite, asked, his tone laced with curiosity."Yep. I saw it myself. Not only can he use the Silver special arts, but he also wields rune magic decently well. Honestly? I’m not even sure who's stronger between us." Uramia’s eyes flickered with interest at her own words.Even after Art’s fight, more surprises had followed."And it's not just him. There was another one. Another Silver. He caught me off guard the most. You should keep an eye on them.""If what you're saying is true, then even I would struggle to handle them alone," Karen admitted, looking up at her. But now?It was nothing.Casually, Art stretched out his blackened right arm, catching the appendage mid-strike—right at its burning hot-spot.A scream echoed across the arena. But it wasn’t from Art.The beast recoiled in agony, thrashing wildly. It lashed out with its second appendage, but Art dodged effortlessly, then twisted his grip and slammed the creature into the ground. A deep crack spread from the impact. The summon screeched, struggling to break free. Its flailing tails radiated i
