That Way

Lizzie cursed under her breath, her steps quick and frantic as they raced back through the shadowed ravine. The thick, oppressive darkness seemed to close in around them, making every sound, every rustle of the rocks beneath their feet, feel amplified. Her pulse hammered in her ears, and every few seconds, she shot Calvin a sharp glare. “You’re insane, you know that?” she hissed, her voice laced with frustration and fear.
