The Superb Husband

Chapter one

Damien wasn't slowing down; he dashed to the Sky High Hotel opening ceremony.

His mom's sickness has gotten worse; he asked Megan for some money, but she refused, and now the situation has reached the death line.

The doctor personally threatened to kick his mom out this time. He must find the money, or his mom will be kicked out of the hospital.

He reached the entrance, and two security men were standing like heavy statues.

Damien knows they won't allow him inside since he doesn't have an invitation, but they would grant him access if he mentioned his wife's name.

"Gentlemen, my wife is inside. Her name is Bernard Megan.

They look at Damien with frowning faces and wonder, Who does this moron plan to deceive? They couldn't believe somebody would try to play such a trick at this luxury event.

The Bernard family won the contract for the interior design of the sky-high hotel, and they were given the privilege to organize the opening ceremony; only the most wealthy people were invited.

There is no way this pauper can be part of the Bernard family.

One of them stepped forward and pushed Damien to the ground.

"I am giving you three seconds to leave this place, or you won't recognize yourself after today."

Damien's eyebrows push down as he stands to his feet. He knows he wasn't wearing something expensive; he barely had time, which is why he wore a short trouser and t-shirt, but at least a guard shouldn't look down on him.

"I am telling you the truth. My name is Damien. You can go inside and confirm it yourself, or notify Megan of my presence."

"Hahahaha"

The men laugh at Damien's words; they have never seen this madness before. This psycho thinks he can play games with them.

"This is your last warning. I am—"

"Is it so hard to do? I am telling you the truth. Go inside and confirm if I am lying. I am Megan Bernard's husband!"

The man wanted to push Damien again, but Damien evaded his hands and sent a punch in his face.

He knows these men won't let him inside, and they won't obey his words.

The last thing he wants is to delay time with these baboons.

Damien forced his way inside after taking down the monkeys at the entrance.

He marched to the main door of the banquet, and some security men followed him from behind.

Damien increased his pace; he couldn't let them catch him. He dashed inside the hall, and five men followed him inside.

His footsteps got the crowd's attention, and his eyes saw Megan.

She was talking to somebody who can only be described as a king's son.

Damien wanted to mention her name when the security guards seized him.

"Come here, you bastard."

Damien struggled with them and screamed.

"Let me go!!. I've told you already. I am Bernard Megan's husband!"

His screams finally drew everybody's attention to him. They stopped what they were doing and watched the HD scene.

Damien put the men to the ground in seconds. They were not matched for him due to his burning desire to save his mother.

"Megan. My mother's sickness has gotten terrible. You promised to give me the money when you come back, but they have stopped treating her. I need the money now."

Damien said as he approached Megan.

The Bernard family faces blankly seeing Damien and the manner in which he entered.

He disgraced them to the core, not only Megan.

Grandfather Bernard regrets marrying both of them because Megan is pregnant.

It's her fault anyway; they tried to force her to abort the baby, but she refused. With that rage, he married his granddaughter off to this barbarian; now look at what he has done.

The Bernard family was sparkling in everybody's eyes, but Demian has thrown mud on them.

"Stop that bastard."

He mutters to the family members close to him.

Some of the family blocked Damian from reaching Megan.

Security, take this bastard away."

Damien's heartbeat increased; he knew he couldn't fight the family. He needs to get Megan's attention, but she just stands there without saying anything.

"Megan, please give me the money. I need—"

"Slap"

"Shut your mouth, you lifeless human being; do we know you? How did you even enter this place?"

Mrs. Doris quickly moved to shut down Damien.

What a horrible humiliation this is.

In front of this magnificent man, her daughter was taking all the spotlight, but this madman had to come ruin it, just like he ruined their lives a few weeks ago.

The gentleman standing close to Megan pointed at Damien.

"Do you know him?"

Megan looks at Damien in disgust. She hates him to the bone. He ruined her life by spiking her drink and taking her virginity, and then she got pregnant for him.

The grandfather was merciless with his decision; he married them since she refused to abort the baby.

Megan lost everything because of Damien's actions. She wishes he could just disappear from her life, but she has promised to give him the money for his mom's treatment.

"he—"

"He is Megan's driver."

Lady Helen cut Megan off.

"So you don't recognize your driver anymore?"

She doesn't want Megan to say something stupid. Her most beautiful granddaughter has been doing stupid things recently.

She was beaming when she saw the attention Megan was getting. Her birthday is coming soon, and with this kind of attention, more of her admirers will attend and shower her with gifts just to put in some good words for them.

"He is Megan's driver!"

She raised her voice.

Damien wasn't surprised by Lady Helen's words. He knows she can do worse than this.

He was frightened because Megan wasn't saying anything. She is the last hope he has in saving his mom.

"Megan please. You promised to help me. Right now, my mom is not receiving any treatment."

The gentleman's face squeezed.

"Why is this pauper still allowed to talk? Please take him out immediately!" Mrs. Doris shouted.

"Security! What are you doing? Get this madman out of here."

Damien decided to force his way to Megan. He knows she is angry with him, but he too was set up.

Nobody listens to him; they all judge him wrongly. Why would he want this kind of life?

Living with these wicked people is like living in hell; he wishes he could squash them with his hands.

Damien pushed some of the family members away, but the security men seized him.

It took six security men to fully stop his movement. They dragged him on the floor, and he kept calling Megan's name, but she refused to say anything.

Megan brought out her phone when Damien was dragged out. She wanted to enter the transfer app when Lady Helen held her hands.

"If you dare send that bastard money, You will leave this family with nothing but the clothes you are wearing."

That bastard has humiliated them enough; his mom can die; she doesn't care; he is not the first person to lose his mom anyway.

Megan drops her phone.
