Ratnasari jumped lightly off the stage, accompanied by applause and cheers from the audience. She then walked toward Arya, who smiled as he admired her beauty.

"Good thing your opponent didn’t notice your weakness," Arya whispered in Ratnasari’s ear. "It seems like you’ve forgotten what I once taught you."

The beautiful girl furrowed her brows. "If I may ask, where is my weakness?"

"I'll show you the gaps in your defense later at the inn when we have time," Arya replied. The handsome young man then approached the announcer, who had yet to step onto the stage to continue his duties.

"Uncle, do I have another match scheduled for today?"

The announcer unrolled the dried parchment he held. After a moment, he shook his head. "Your match is scheduled for tomorrow, young warrior. Today, there are still a few other matches before the third round begins."

"Alright then. Thank you for the information, sir." Arya gave a slight smile before leaving the announcer.

"My match is tomorrow. For now, l

What business do you have at the palace?" one of the guards asked, his expression fierce and unwelcoming."We have been invited by His Majesty the King to meet him this evening, Sir," Arya replied."You received an invitation from His Majesty?" The guard seemed doubtful of Arya's words."Hahaha... your delusions are impressive. How could the King possibly invite someone like you? Even if His Majesty had invited you, we would have been informed beforehand," another guard scoffed, his tone full of disdain.Arya and Ratnasari exchanged glances, confused by the situation. If they had truly been invited by King Wanajaya, someone should have been sent to escort them inside.Doubt began creeping into Arya’s mind. He started suspecting that the soldier who had given him the invitation had only intended to humiliate him."You again!" a sudden, sharp voice rang out from behind.Arya and Ratnasar

Princess Laras and Ratnasari remained mostly silent, listening to the conversation unfolding between the two men. However, Princess Laras’s frequent glances at Arya sent waves of jealousy crashing through Ratnasari’s heart. The fact that Princess Laras possessed beauty equal to her own only heightened her fears—fears that Arya might turn his attention elsewhere. But more than that, what terrified her the most was Princess Laras’s status as a king’s daughter."Arya, there's something I’d like to ask you. At such a young age, how did you acquire such formidable martial arts skills? Where did you actually train?" asked King Wijaya Kusuma. The handsome young man scratched his head lightly. He couldn’t possibly mention Sarwana or Hydra, who were, indirectly, his two masters. As he struggled to find an answer, Ratnasari suddenly spoke up, helping Arya out of his predicament. "Forgive me, Your Majesty… Arya and I actually trained at the Sacred Staff School. We both entered this tournament to

However, Arya and Ratnasari were completely mistaken—the four black-clad figures had deliberately lured them out of the royal city."If you two think we were planning to flee after attacking, you're dead wrong! "I don’t know who you are or what you want, but you've made a grave mistake by attacking us!""Your threats mean nothing to the Four Blood Demons, boy! We've lived our whole lives under threats, so don't expect us to be scared of yours!""Say whatever you want, but I didn’t chase after you just to threaten you—I came to kill all four of you!" Arya shot back."Bastard! Arrogant fools like you deserve to be cut to pieces!" one of them spat. "Kill the boy and capture the girl! We're being paid handsomely for this! Hahaha!"Arya frowned. The handsome young man channeled his inner energy to relieve the pain coursing through his body. Something about the three opponents before him felt odd. Judging by their energy levels, Reksapati and the leader of the Blood Red Moon Sect were clearly stronger, yet their attacks were able to penetrate the Fire Dragon energy he had summoned.“Hahaha! How could we be paid so handsomely just to kill someone as weak as him?” one of the three sneered.“You’re right. I also wonder why those two soldiers were willing to pay such a high price for this young man’s life. I thought our target would be formidable, but he turns out to be nothing more than a lowly insect,” his companion replied.Hearing the word soldiers made Arya’s brow furrow deeply. That night, Prince Purbaya could not close his eyes at all. His mind was haunted by the thought of his arrogance, which he had built for so long, about to crumble. He considered it only natural for a noble like him to be arrogant—after all, he had something to be proud of. It was a different matter if arrogance came from someone of the Sudra caste or the lowest social class.Prince Purbaya’s two soldiers, exhausted and in dire need of rest, had no choice but to stay up with the heir to the Cakrabuana throne until morning. They had to endure their fatigue and drowsiness, which felt like a rain of arrows in battle, lest they face punishment. They knew that Prince Purbaya was infamous for his cruelty in punishing his subordinates. As dawn approached, Prince Purbaya finally managed to close his eyes, though only by forcing himself to do so. • The End of the Battle

Reso was irritated by the question asked by Prawiro. To him, such a foolish question should not have been directed at him. Especially considering Prawiro’s status as one of the elders of the Red Snake Sect, he should have been able to think more broadly and wisely."Do you want to die in vain without fighting back? It's clear that young man won’t let us go, and you’re still asking what we should do?" Reso retorted.Prawiro was offended by Reso’s words. He stood up, no longer willing to help his friend to his feet. He glared at Arya for a moment, steadying his breath.Reso was puzzled by Prawiro’s attitude. He had been patient with Prawiro’s sometimes childish behavior. Like now, for example. It was clear Prawiro was sulking due to the harshness of his words.Unexpectedly, Prawiro lunged to attack Arya. The red staff in his hand spun rapidly before he thrust it forcefully toward Arya’s neck."Don’t be rash, Prawiro!" Reso shouted

The two old men couldn’t hide their shock. As elders of a black sect based in the Sastrajingga Kingdom, they couldn’t detect the nature of the energy emitted by the young man. Normally, just by sensing the pressure alone, they would have been able to tell.Realizing the danger that could easily cost them their lives, Reso took the initiative to make peace with the handsome young man."Wait, Warrior… We’ve never had any conflict before. So I hope this fight ends here."Monk Red Venom was surprised by what his comrade said. He didn’t expect the one known as the Serpent King Warrior to surrender so easily.Reso hadn’t exactly said the word “surrender,” but by offering to end the fight, it was essentially the same thing."About my men—I’ll order them to withdraw, Warrior," Reso added."What are you doing, Reso? Why are you giving up so easily?" Monk Red Venom growled in frustration."Do you want us to die in vain, Prawi

As he dodged, a smile spread across his face—mocking, almost taunting his opponent’s attempt."Don’t you have anything faster than that?" Arya sneered."You arrogant brat! That was only the beginning!" shouted Monk Red Venom. The old man in all-red attire leaped forward, raising his staff high before swinging it down, aiming straight for Arya’s head."Die!"Blaaar!Monk Red Venom grunted in frustration. The powerful strike he launched missed completely, striking only the sandy ground and sending a thick cloud of dust into the air. His vision was quickly obscured, leaving him unable to see where his opponent had gone.Fortunately, the strong mountain wind soon dispersed the dust cloud. When visibility returned, the old man saw that the young warrior was no longer in front of him."Don’t you run

The beautiful girl narrowed her eyes, gazing up at the mountain. With her heightened sense of hearing still sharp, Ratnasari tried to locate the source of the battle."Arya, there's a fight. The sound is coming from up there!" Her slender index finger pointed to a spot."If you train your senses often enough, you can hear even the slightest sound without needing deep focus. You can even sense someone's suppressed energy, though the limit is usually only if their inner strength is no more than one level above yours," Arya explained."Really? But didn’t you once say we can’t sense the energy of someone whose level is above ours?" Ratnasari asked."That was my old thinking. But during my disappearance, I learned many new things, some quite different from the usual beliefs of most warriors," Arya replied. His gaze returned to the spot Ratnasari had pointed out earlier."We’d better go check it out up there," he added."Hmm.

"Forgive me, but I can't believe you've stepped down, My Lord. To me, you are still the Grand Commander—an irreplaceable war leader. I have seen firsthand how you organize the troops, both in offense and defense," said Nara.Arya raised an eyebrow. "Were you part of the archery unit?""Yes, My Lord. I was among the archers led by Lord Rengga when we attacked the enemy in a valley flanked by hills," the soldier replied."Sit down first. I’ll explain everything. To be honest, I don't like being treated like that," Arya said."I'm sorry, My Lord, but I wouldn’t dare. It's not my place to sit at the same level as you." The soldier kept his gaze lowered, fearfully.Arya looked displeased at the refusal. "That’s an order! As a village girl who had never set foot outside her hometown, she imagined that all the young men in the capital city must be just as handsome as the guest currently in her village. She tried to suppress the rush of blood that surged when she saw Arya. Deep down, she knew her place and felt she had no chance competing against Ratnasari, whose beauty was above average."Come on, Ratna," urged Watini. Staying there any longer would only stir her youthful emotions further and torment her imagination, she thought.Ratnasari nodded and walked alongside Watini toward her house.“Is that girl your lover? Oh, and what’s your name, young man?”“My name is Arya, Uncle.”“And the girl?” the man asked again.“She is indeed my lover. We’re planning to visit some relatives in Sastrajingga, the royal capital,” Arya answered with a made-up story.“I see. As the afternoon approached, Arya and Ratnasari bid farewell to King Wijaya Kusuma, Prime minister Bayu Aji, Rengga, and all the officials present in the palace hall. The departure of the pair of warriors who had been consecrated as the great heroes of the Jaya Buana kingdom left sadness for everyone who knew and understood their exploits. A huge question immediately popped into Arya's mind. "What could the Jaya Buana ruler possibly want in my room at this late hour? Is it something so important that he had to come see me?" "Why are you so surprised to see me? May I come in?" King Wijaya Kusuma asked, his smile radiating strong friendship. The question startled Arya, who was still frozen in shock at the sudden arrival of King Wijaya Kusuma. "Oh, uh... Please, Your Majesty. Consider it your own home," the young man replied, opening his room door wide. King Wijaya Kusuma chuckled softly. "How could you possibly tell me to consider your palace my home?" "Oh, yes..." Arya became even more awkward and flustered at the small mistake he had made. King Wijaya Kusuma walked into the room and chose a chair to sit on. After closing the room door, Arya walked towards the king. As he was facing a king, Arya stood with his head bowed. "Hahaha
