Chapter 3 The Strategy (1)

Stepping out of what seem to be the portal surrounded by Grey fog and electricity coursing through its edges from time to time, I was greeted with the familiar throne room.

It was not as grand as king's throne room, but nevertheless it was to my liking.

I had completed countless missions under king's command but he had never allocated me any domain or honor which was due, no matter how splendidly I have finished them.

Therefore with my own power and by creating circumstances in which king couldn't refuse my request, I had claimed a moon as my domain in past.

It was one of the moons near the planet on which king's castle was situated. It was mostly barren devoid of even oxygen, but with the vast amount of knowledge at our disposal, we had already devised a technology to turn neuter planets into habitable one.

It does shorten the planets life but it can be used for millions of years and the benefit of this method outshines the drawbacks.

On this whole planet there was only one city which I governed, a capital in which people selected by me and my retainers lived. The numbers were around five to six thousands but my intention was not to establish a rebel army but to establish a peaceful land.

My castle was one of the biggest structures on this planet which is not what I desired but, it was wish of my subordinates, who held me as king.

The capital was not surrounded by any wall but an advance array whose strength was enough to stop any leader from destroying the city and also counter them and all four corners of capital stood four towers in which the retainers appointed by me were always present to protect the capital.

In center of capital stood my majestic castle surrounded by wall reinforced with array's. The height of walls was 100 meter high and 20 meter thick made out of strongest material known to dragon race.

In center of this structure my castle was located which was high enough to be seen outside from the wall.

Surrounded by huge trees and garden filled with flowers. it was the castle in which I was barely present. It was just a lonely structure made to dictate my authority.

Once I stepped out of the portal into the throne room, I was greeted with few butlers and two out of six of retainers. They always stayed in the throne room unless they have to go outside for some mission.

"Gather all retainer's in conference room in next 10 minutes." I ordered two dragon's one male and one female who were already standing in their seats on my arrival. They bowed and left to comply with my orders.

From corner of the room one butler came running while holding my Guardian robe knowing that I would be leaving for capital soon. With a snap of my finger the robe I was wearing was changed with my Guardian robe.

Other than our own abilities we dragons has learned other skill with the help of mana language which once decoded was termed as 'Runes' and can be used as long as one has enough mana.

Even after trying to decode the Runes for past 3 to 4 million years it is presumed that we have yet to decode even half the secret of mana.

What I just used now to change my robes, was one of such utility based runes.

"Rest of you can return to your duties." They bowed and left the throne room.

Walking near the throne caressing the diamond like crystal I pondered, it could be the last time I seat on it. But I shook my head removing the unnecessary negative thoughts and sat on the throne.

It was made out of clear ice like crystal which was more durable than diamond. I myself have collected it in a certain mission after killing a rare 'X' ranked beast.

While sitting on the throne thinking about my strategy few minutes has passed and a monotonous female voice resounded in the throne room indicating that all retainers has gathered in the conference room.

Without further a due a grey portal appeared in front of me, in which I stepped in and arrived at the conference room where 4 male and 2 female dragons were bowing on one knee their eyes on the floor.

"We greet the lord." They said in unison.

"Take your seats." I replied after sitting on my chair and they stood up in perfect synergy like some trained military soldier and took their seats.

Their existence was not hidden from king, but one thing that even king was not sure of was how powerful they are. They were personally selected and trained by me, but apart from me nobody knew whether they were just some ordinary vessel or they had strength similar to that of a leader.

There was a time in the past when 3rd leader had attacked my planet but they had fought and injured the 3rd leader to the extent that he had to retreat, which proved that they were no pushovers but about their individual strength there was too little information.

In this group of 6 Dragons some were ordinary while some belonged to extra ordinary background. Each one of them had a purpose which reconciled with mine, some were victim of injustice, while some wanted a better future for the Dragon kind and thus were co-operating with me.

They were all different in terms of strength and ability, but one thing was common about them and that was that they were loyal to the bone, they were the people I could trust and rely on.

"What is your orders my Lord." Andrew the strongest of the 6 retainer spoke with serious face knowing that I wouldn't gather all of them without any serious reason.

Suddenly an unknown uneasiness swept through my mind as if someone was watching me and I looked around the room but I couldn't put my finger onto what was the source of this uneasiness. I wanted to brief them about their mission here but something was bugging me and therefore I decided to change the location of meeting not ready to take any chances.

"What I am about to tell you can't be discussed here, so close your eyes and don't resist whatever I am about to do." They all nodded at my words and closed their eyes.

I willed for space to bend according to my intent and all six of them were surrounded by a transparent purple ball on whose surface various golden runes were engraved and were moving as if they were alive.

And with another snap of my finger we all disappeared from the conference room leaving it empty.

**********

At an unknown distance from where the meeting was being held between Alex and Retainers.

"He is more cautious than I thought, even his father was not able to sense me when I used my abilities in the past, I have to report to his majesty that guardian has started to make his move." The person keeping a watch on meeting from afar said before disappearing.
