                                                                                    Planet Belli-ium

                                                                                             8:17

Planet Belli-ium was an uninhabited planet in the same galaxy as Domi-ium, and is notable only for the fact that each minute is the equivalent of one century on Domi-ium. It was here that Cain had stopped. He enjoyed having the entire planet to himself. “The chippering of the apes becomes annoying, Thing. The ancestors tell us the apes attempt to make themselves superior by constant talk of their struggles. That is the case. There were very few on Domi-ium that I considered my equal. None of the apes anywhere else are worth even the time my laughter would take.”

“That is why Augmons make excellent companions, Thing. You have the fortune of meeting greatness. You have the fortune to travel through the galaxy. You are a personal witness to what others will only witness in hindsight.”

Thing listened to him. He had heard talk like this before. Before being in the Ambassador’s household, he was part of Muah’s.

‘In the beginning, there was Muah,’ Thing thought. ‘I could have chosen any of the disciples to travel with. I chose Gra because he was the most beloved. But he chose the most boring course. Gra began as the Snog, the lowest of Domi-ium society. Through the centuries, I have watched him grovel, I have watched him take the great power Muah trusted him with and decide to compromise with others for a higher position in the Council. That’s why I decided to travel with the elder Gra.’

‘But you are worse than the Ambassador. There’s an old saying on Probus that people like you are guilty of believing their own press.’ He laughed. ‘Well, it’s not really an old saying on Probus. We don’t have any old sayings. Or any new sayings for that matter. The ones who stay on Probus don’t really do anything.’ He laughed again.

‘So which is worse? The one who traded his power away and has gotten the Curse? Or the one who believes Muah and wants more power?’

Before him were the souvenirs Cain had collected. There were drivers’ licenses, pieces of clothing, part of the uniform he wore behind the grassy knoll as well as other bits and pieces from every crime. The elder Gra had scattered them on the wall in front of him. “Thing, behold! Each piece represents not only the killing of an ape, but a demonstration of my power!” Cain didn’t need these items to remember, but he wanted them as an example of his greatness.

‘I should have stayed with Muah. He at least had created and had deserved praised. Gra demanded praise for what Muah had done. And this one knows nothing but destruction. That’s why I am sending information to Muah. He will correct this.’

                                                     Information Breakdown #1

Ok, I admit it. This is as much for my benefit as for those who will read it. There are a LOT of players in the first section, so to recap here

Cain, a maleficent god, has stolen a ship, an Atom214s. He uses it to go to other planets and other times with the express purpose of killing random people, leaving a trail of unsolveds. On his ship was an Augmon, a hybrid creature that was a spy for Muah.

His people, the Domi-iums, a race of gods, send his brother Ian to stop him. Apparently his greatest weapon to do that is me, a detective with the police department in Lexington KY. My almost thirty years career was stopped by a bullet. My most trusted confidant is my dad, a man who has been dead for over forty years. Being dead has not changed either his confidence in me, or his curmudgeon attitude.

Ian is the younger Gra brother. He has tried to follow the rules his entire life. However, he knows that his dad killed his mom and has vowed after stopping Cain he will also kill his dad. Ian’s only companion is an earth Hermit Crab named Frank. Frank has an automated treadmill built into Ian’s console.

Gra-the most beloved of Muah’s disciples and the dad of both Cain and Ian. He was sent to infiltrate and rule Domi-ium society, the greatest planet in the universe. He would wed and later kill QMark. He is now almost insane and controlled by Litworth, Muah’s more loyal disciple.

Muah-he was there in the beginning. Muah was created by the culmination of the evil in the universe.

None of that makes any sense, but as I have seen, a lot of life here on Earth don’t make sense either.

However, the company that would eventually print this insisted that I needed to include other details. They wanted the truth. I have never let something like the truth stand in the way of a good story. That means that in the following story some of the lies are true. Alternatively it means that several of the lies are true. You figure it out.* * *

November 22, 1963 More than a dozen doctors, nurses, technicians moved efficiently around each other in Trauma Room 1. That dozen also included Cain, who had slipped into a pair of scrubs. To the dozen were members of the Secret Service, FBI, military brass, and most likely intelligence agents. Attorney General Robert Kennedy and Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara would also pop into the room from time to time.
