Retaliation Begins

Liam shook his head, trying to maintain a delicate posture. He turned to walk out, trying to force his toes from beneath Richard's feet.

Richard immediately opened the drink, emptying it all on Liam's head.

"Loser!! I so enjoy humiliating you, boy," he bragged.

The students laughed hysterically, but just then Lindy approached Richard with a frown.

"Can you stop treating him this way? It's pathetic how you make him a subject of jest and mockery." Just as she was about to finish her words, Richard turned to her, pushing her away.

"Get out of here. This has nothing to do with you," he gloated. "No, don't do that," Liam attempted to stop him, but Richard slapped him, the swish sound of the slap echoed in the cafeteria.

There was an abrupt jubilation from the students. Liam didn't need to be told that it was the right time for him to teach Richard a lesson of his life.

**********

Immediately, the blue rays showed like a shadow before him. He breathed deeper, his arms feeling a surge of energy that made his eyes reddish, the anger burning from within him.

He moved his toes with a quick swift, and turned to walk out of the cafeteria. The students jeered again, but then Richard followed on.

"Wait there, young rat!" His voice deepened. Liam rushed into the school field as a means of calming the provocation that surged within him.

"I thought you wanted retaliation," Richard bragged. "You son of a bitch, wait there bastard, rat face boy."

Liam cleared his throat, rubbing his hands continuously on his eyelids to ease the heat that burnt from within him.

Richard picked a stick as he hurried towards Liam, slamming it on his head.

"How dare you make me walk this long following you? Who the hell do you think you are, you son of a bitch!" His words were rude and piercing, always showing a sense of empty pride.

Liam turned instantly, the redness in his eyes deepened! He stretched his arm, jacked Richard, his feet leaving the ground.

"Let this sound as a warning to you and all those who humiliate and jubilate in molesting the weaker students."

Liam threw Richard, he somersaulted several times going in a straight direction, as he screamed in the air, his shorts tore with the force of wind that pushed him further.

"Help!!" Richard yelled as he went in a straight direction.

The sound of his yelling attracted other students who ran to witness the scene, but then Liam kept a calm posture.

Richard fell in the middle of the wide football field of 53.33 metres, his shirt and trousers torn, his body filled with bruises from the wind's reaction on his frail skin.

He rolled, pleading in pain. "What happened to him?" the other students asked as they couldn't believe that Liam was the cause of Richard yelling.

************

Liam must have hurt him," one of the guys with a cold demeanor replied.

"Liam can't hurt a fly," Lindy defended. The other boys who crowded the field were surprised to see Richard laid from nowhere in the middle of the field.

They quickly rushed him to the school clinic as he moaned in pain but couldn't explain what must have transpired between him and Liam.

Liam turned back, walking gently and coldly back into the cafeteria. Lindy walked towards him again.

"What really happened out there?" she inquired, raising her brows in awe.

"Nothing, Lindy. I'm just famished," Liam replied, a cold, piercing gaze showed on his face.

"How much for a plate of edible potatoes with some oysters and Pearls?" he asked.

"$5000," the server replied with a welcoming smile on her face, handing Liam the menu.

Lindy was taken aback; she couldn't believe that Liam could ask for such a class of meal.

"I never said I was getting you food, Liam," she said immediately. "I was only asking because I was curious," she stammered.

Liam turned to her and smiled, pretending not to hear what she said.

"Add some chilled fruit drink," his voice sounding like some rich folks.

Lindy immediately turned to walk away, but then she paused.

"I must see the end of this stupidity," she yanked off, folding her hands.

A tray of caviar and roasted Maine lobster, two filled plates of Le beouy, and a costly bottle of grapefruit drink were handed to Liam. He turned to Lindy.

"Hey, Lindy," he called out, but Lindy looked down, her nose showing a haughty expression.

"I said earlier, I ain't paying for that sort of meal," Liam grinned again, tucked his hands into his pocket, and brought out his debit card.

"What are you doing?" Lindy laughed hysterically as Liam ran his fingers in the air as though pressing a calculator; the blue shadow light from his amulet was only obvious to him.

The server laughed in unison. Immediately $500,000,000 dropped in Liam's account; he handed the debit card to the server.

"Your total cost is $5000, sir," she exclaimed. Liam nodded without hesitation, his eyes fixed on the server's name tag.

"Flora," showed conspicuously. She brushed the card on the withdrawal terminal, and the amount showed WITHDRAWAL COMPLETE.

Liam reached for his tray of meal, Lindy in shock followed behind.

Yet again, the whole students cheered Lindy; they thought she had purchased all of that for Liam.

**************

Later that day, Liam sits in a lonely facade, a half wall, leaning his head on the hard wall, feeling every bit of the hardness.

Talking to himself and feeling his lonesome life, he disliked everything that happened to him, most especially is the controlling nature of the Blue Ray Shadow who tries to take over him, sometimes, trying to react in little change of emotions, his mind hanged on possible ways of having control over it in totality.

"I need to have self control over these new powers, mum you never told me this had such powers, I wouldn't have hesitated to use it to bring you back to life"

" Why did you have to give it to me and not use it to keep yourself alive for me"?

Liam strolled through the hallway, his footsteps creating an echo that lingered behind him. The students he walked by hardly knew the person they thought they recognized. The timid boy who allowed others to take advantage of him was no longer present; instead, there was a person who radiated a sense of calm power. Lindy stood at the entrance, feeling her heart race. He spent a brief moment lying still, gazing at the ceiling, with thoughts of the day before racing through his head. Everything seemed changed now—he seemed changed. He experienced a newfound clarity, realizing he was gaining insight into his true self and what steps he needed to take. However, along with that clarity came a feeling of discomfort. He understood that the money and power he possessed separated him from others and made him vulnerable to being targeted. Individuals would seek his guidance, assistance, and support, and he questioned his capability to deal with it all. He had to be cautious and manage the story before it slipped away from him. He quickly dressed in a hoodie and jeans after getting out of bed. While he was lacing up his shoes, his phone vibrated on the bedside table. A message appeared on the screen from Lindy

However, along with that control also came the requirement for carefulness – every step he took would be monitored, every behavior examined. Following a speedy breakfast, Liam departed from his dormitory, his thoughts already active with anticipation for the upcoming day. The campus was lively in the morning, with students bustling to classes and chatting in small groups, but Liam couldn't help but notice the quiet looks and whispers directed at him. News had circulated about his confrontation with Vanguard, causing a stir of interest in the boy who had emerged from obscurity. While walking, Liam saw Vanguard in the distance chatting with a group of students close to the library. She saw him and fixed her eyes on him, assessing

Life continued on as though nothing was different, but deep down, everyone understood that it was far from finished. Liam and his group had gone back to their usual activities, but the assignment to take down Harlow stayed in their thoughts like an unshakeable burden. Returning to his full-time position at the mechanic shop, Liam took comfort in the routine of his job. While his hands focused on repairing vehicles, his thoughts consistently returned to the unusual sense of tranquility. It seemed too perfect to be real, and Liam sensed an approaching storm. While the rest had gone their separate ways, the group remained connected through secret messages and occasional, low-key gatherings. Their facade of normality was just a temporary shield; they were all aware it wouldn't endure. Harlow had moved back into the darkness, his existence on the property a menacing danger. His

The night had dragged on, tense and uncertain, but now the morning sun bathed the town in a gentle, golden glow. After the close encounter with Harlow last night, everyone was completely drained - physically, emotionally, and mentally. They had successfully avoided a catastrophe, for the time being, but the task was not yet complete. Although Liam, Jordan, and Rachel successfully returned from Harlow's estate, they were unable to bring back his whole family. Some stayed faithful to Harlow, while some were too scared to go. The victory was tenuous at most. Father Michael convened one last gathering at the church before everyone went their separate ways. The room was a mix of relief and anxiety, with the understanding that this was not yet finished. Father Michael started by expressing his gratitude to everyone in the room for their courage. He looked at every person - Liam, Jordan, Lindy, Rachel, Principal Dawson, and Elena, who was forgiven for her role as a spy for Harlow. "W

Liam, Jordan, and Father Michael shared solemn expressions, feeling the gravity of the situation pressing down on them. "What precise words did your father use?" Jordan inquired with a hushed and pressing tone. The boy, struggling to control his fear, stumbled over his words, saying, "He... he's mad." He is aware that you are all uniting against him. He is scheming a major project. I... I listened to him speaking with his soldiers. "He's on his way to get you."Liam could feel his heart pounding in his chest. He looked around the room, observing the worried expressions on his friends' faces. They were together, but the signs of discord were already starting to appear. Seated in a corner, Elena appeared pale and distant. She had been providing Harlow with information, possibly for sabotage or to ensure survival.

Liam felt his heart pounding in excitement as he glanced at Elena, then returned his gaze to the priest. He couldn't stop thinking: Did Father Michael have hidden information, or was he just echoing the rumors they were already thinking about? The group remained immobile, each member contemplating the arrival of the priest, uncertain if it was a gift or a punishment. Father Michael, a man known for his peaceful demeanor and astute insights, had served as a spiritual mentor in the community for many years. However, his mere existence now held an unsettling heaviness. "Is it true?" Lindy shattered the quietness with her sharp voice, slicing through the tense atmosphere. Who is responsible for disseminating them? And for what reason at this moment? Father Michael moved ahead, his aged face clouded with worry. Liam, Lindy, Jordan, along with some fresh faces in their group, gathered in Liam's living room, their expressions showing worry. They were now more than just students handling campus problems. This had evolved into something much more threatening - something that could drive them away from each other. Liam walked back and forth in the room, feeling the burden of leadership weighing heavily on him. He realized with a sense of urgency that someone could be providing information to Harlow. The question remains: who could it possibly be? "Are we actually going to continue to act as if there are no problems?" Lindy at last opened

The moon's low position in the sky created eerie shadows over the silent town as Harlow walked towards the isolated house on the edges. Indoors, the lighting was low, yet it provided a slightly eerie glow to the surroundings. This was his safe haven - a distant retreat from the curious gazes of the town, the school, and all those who believed they grasped who he truly was. When he got home, Harlow found his wife Naomi sitting in the living room. Her usual grace and composure were replaced by a stern expression and piercing gaze as she looked at him tonight. She calmly mentioned you were tardy, staying seated. Their kids, Claire and Jacob, were upstairs, probably already in dreamland. Or, at the very least, that's the belief they hoped she would adopt. Harlow took off his coat, his thoughts filled with the school and his upcoming plans. "I had some matters to attend to.” Naomi's lips formed a tight line. "Commerce." "Correct." Soft golden hues were cast across the room as morning sunlight filtered through the cabin curtains. The tension remained heavy like a lingering fog despite the uneventful night. While the group woke up, a tense tranquility filled the air. Huddled in a armchair next to the window, Lindy observed Liam quietly making coffee, his mind still weighed down by thoughts from the previous evening. Sarah and Mark, parents of the person, sought shelter in the tiny guest bedroom, quietly discussing their worries until the early hours. Their being there, though reassuring, carried an odd heaviness. It brought to mind for Lindy the shared responsibility they now had - it wasn't only about the festival or Harlow. It was about a more profound issue, something that had been developing long before the chaos started. Upon entering the room, the scent of fresh coffee lingered as Daisy confidently walked in, disrupting the quiet atmosphere. Good morning, everyone. I hope everyone is feeling a bit better

As the group exited the vehicle, they were greeted by the cool and refreshing air surrounding the cabin. The diminishing sunlight from the sunset created a cozy atmosphere on the cabin with wood paneling, surrounded by tall trees. It seemed secure, isolated, and distant from the turmoil they had experienced in recent days. Liam assisted Jordan in extracting Carl from the car, his body hanging useless due to fatigue. They led him cautiously towards the cabin, while Lindy followed behind, keeping a close watch to make sure no one was following them. Upon entering, they were welcomed by the familiar fragrance of old pine and dust, evoking memories of countless summers Lindy's family had enjoyed at the location. It had been years since she visited the cabin, yet it still felt like home in a strangely comforting manner. "Let's help Carl get comfortable," Jordan suggested as he directed him to the aged leather sofa in the corner of the room. He promptly seized the medical kit that Lindy
