Chapter 18

The three of them kept walking around the festival, with Charlie cheerfully walking next to them, unaware of the tension around. As the festival was coming to an end, the lights started to fade but groups of students were still hanging around, chatting and laughing. The air felt less heavy, but Liam still couldn't shake his uneasiness.

Jordan saw the crease in Liam's forehead and lightly pushed him. "Are you still preoccupied with the dog?"

Liam nodded, unable to get rid of the sense that something was not right. I can't shake the feeling that we're overlooking something crucial.

After remaining silent for some time, Lindy eventually decided to speak. "What if the issue isn't the dog, but rather its origin?" Perhaps we should backtrack and investigate if there is anything out of the ordinary in the location where we discovered him.

Liam looked at her, pondering the proposal. "It's worth giving it a shot." "Let's return to the place where we initially spotted him."
