Chapter 31

Liam held the steering wheel firmly while the car raced through the dimly lit downtown streets. While his thoughts were going quickly, he still kept his concentration strong. Beside him, Lindy gazed out the window, her breath creating condensation on the glass, as Jordan sat in the rear seat, browsing his phone for news from Tobias and Emily. They were moving towards the safehouse where Carl was being kept, but there were too many uncertainties, and time was not in their favor.

"We're nearly there," Liam whispered, looking at Lindy. "Jordan, how does everything appear from your perspective?"

Jordan scrolled through his messages and muttered a curse silently. Tobias claims that Harlow's men are everywhere in the area. It's even more serious than we anticipated. They aren't solely targeting Carl, but laying a trap for anyone who attempts to assist him.

Lindy felt her heart racing in her chest. We cannot enter there without knowing what to expect. We require a strategy.
