“I’ll pay De Delta Company’s debt on behalf of Yvette!” Christian confidently declared.

Everyone in the room fell momentarily silent, taken aback by Christian’s words. However, Orion burst into laughter, followed by Alaric. Even Marigold, who rarely laughed, joined in this time.

“Oh, Christian, you’re incredibly funny, thank you for entertaining me when I’m feeling dizzy,” Orion said.

Then the man turned towards Yve and said, “Your husband is perfect for a comedian. Just sign him up at a comedy club. It seems more positive than him having to do the dishes and cleaning at home.”

Yve felt increasingly pressured by Christian’s presence. Right now, she was trying to save her marriage from the voices urging her to divorce. But here was Christian, showing off.

“Look, Yve! Is that the man you chose as your husband? Someone who loves to brag and daydream. All his life, he’s relied on his wife, and now he dares to say he can pay off the company’s debt!” Marigold exclaimed in frustration.
