"Is that really you mom?" Lawton asked, making sure he heard her voice correctly the first time.

"Yes Lawton," the voice said.

"It is your mom," the voice said.

Lawton is elated as his house keys dropped from his hands.

"I can't believe it's you," he said.

"How are you?" He added.

"I'm fine Lawton," she said.

"I'm better now," he continued.

"A good Samaritan cleared all my hospital bills and paid them in advance," she added.

"A good Samaritan?" Lawton said.

"Yes, he comes to check up on me every day and brings me Japanese food that has been helping me recover better," she said.

Lawton immensely knew it was Smithson as he heard his mom talk.

He wondered why Smithson never mentioned going to see mother to him.

He then shrugs it off as he assumes Smithson must have been trying to surprise him.

With the confusion cleared up, Lawton tears up subconsciously as his mom continues to talk, it has been so long since they had last spoken to each other.

"I'm coming to the hospital right now Mom,"
