CHAPTER 156: Secrets and Shame

Lawton could tell Amanda's mood was off for the entire night after the event.

She had been most and it seemed like something was worrying her.

The guests soon started to leave the party one after the other as it was getting late.

Lawton then asked Amanda to go relax upstairs as he needed to see the guests off.

"I will be back," Lawton said.

Amanda left Lawton with the guest and walked up into the bedroom.

She stared at the ring Lawton had earlier given to her as tears filled her eyes.

"I can't do it," Amanda said, as she paced around the room.

"I have to tell him," she added, as she removed her dress and changed into her nightwear before walking out of the bedroom.

Lawton had seen the guests off and was back into the house to clean up the living room.

He carefully packed the plates and cutlery into the kitchen.

Lawton was cleaning the dining room when he heard footsteps.

"Hey," Lawton said, as he saw Amanda.

"You should rest, you look tired," he added.

Amanda refused as she insisted o
