Lawton went blank as he heard Amanda's question, he didn't know what reply to give to her as he stood up and walked up the stairs.

Smithson then asked Amanda to follow Lawton and speak to him privately but she refused as she could face him on her own.

"I can't," Amanda said.

"You have to," Smithson said.

"You do not have a choice," he added.

Amanda then stood up and went after Lawton who walked angrily into the room.

Amanda opened the door to the bedroom to see Lawton who sat on their bed and covered his face with his palm.

She walked slowly towards him and sat beside him.

"I know I have hurt you and I hate myself for that," Amanda said.

"I understand if you don't want to see or talk to me," she continued.

Lawton removed his palms from his face as Amanda continued to talk and carefully placed two fingers on her lips.

"Sshhh," he said.

"I'm not mad at you," he said.

"I wish I was able to protect you from him," Lawton added as he pulled her in for a hug.
