Chapter Four

The gods kept taunting Robert in his dream and he couldn't take it anymore.

"My people are suffering, go and set them free" The gods said in his dream and he woke up sweating profusely.

This is not the first time he is having such a dream.

Robert places his hand on his forehead and sighs with his grey eyes shining in the dark. He couldn't go back to sleep due to the fact the gods will taunt him in his dream again.

The next morning he took the clay pot and went to the spring to get water.

He filled the pot and started going back to his hut. On his way he saw a huge snake curled up on the only path that led to his hut. There is no way he could pass unless he kills the snake.

He dropped the pot on the ground gently and Drew his sword out. The sound of his sword drew the attention of the snake to him. He stepped back a bit when he saw the snake move its body.

The snake lifted its head up and looked at the small figure under him.

Its eyes are so green like the leaves in the forest.

There is no way he is going to kill a huge snake like that .

Robert took to his heel and started running. The snake loses from it curls and starts chasing Robert with it's head held up. Robert ran as fast his legs could take him hoping the snake would stop chasing him but no he was wrong. The race just started.

The snake increases its pace and keeps chasing after Robert. How can he lose something delicious like this?

Robert ran until his legs started hurting. He ran to where a huge tree is and started climbing it hoping and thinking the snake will run by but no, the snake curl the tree and climb it after him with its tongue sticking out.

Robert shot an arrow at it but missed it. He grabbed another arrow again and shot it at the snake which hit the snake in its scale but the snake didn't stop , it still continued climbing the tree and Robert brought his sword out and cut it in its head. The snake fell down and curled on the ground.

Robert took an arrow and shot it at the snake and it hit it so well which made it curl more on the ground.

He looked downward and saw blood dripping on a leaf. He traced the blood to his legs and realised he had sustained a deep piercing from a splinter of wood.

He closes his eyes and pulls the splinter of wood out forcefully and blood gushes out from the wound.

He tore one part of his shirt and tied it around the wound to arrest the bleeding but the wound still kept on bleeding. He tore the other arm of his shirt and tied it around the wound again and this time around it stopped bleeding but the pain is unbearable.

The leg became numb and heavy. He felt like the leg was dead and useless.

Robert tries not to scream due to the pains and holds the branches of the tree tightly with gritted teeth.

' how am I going to climb down from this tree? ' he asked himself silently so he decided to rest on the tree for a while.

After 80 minutes of resting on the tree, he looked around the vicinity and realised he had run far away from jingle nation when he saw a small settlement on the Southside of the forest with children running around.

The snake which was chasing him a while ago is already dead.

He tried to climb down from the tree but due to the pains in his leg, he could not climb the tree down.

He cursed silently and held his leg.

'If I can climb down from this tree, I will go over to that nation at the Southside and take a look at it.' he thought silently.

He held the branches and started climbing down gently.

" Argh argh argh" he screams, making sure not to make too much noise as he hits the wounded leg on a branch of wood.

He pants heavily and holds the leg with his leg hand.

Robert rests for a while and starts climbing down again.

He will climb down and stop Midway due to the pains in his leg.

It took him two hours to climb and d******d the tree. He sat beside the tree and panted heavily. He was happy he was able to climb the tree down.

He managed to stand up and started walking to the direction of the nation he saw on the tree with unstable movement.

He saw a branch of a tree on the ground and picked it to support himself. He keeps walking and resting consecutively.

Four hours later, Robert arrived at the border of the nation. He sat on a stone and ran his eyes through the vicinity.

The nation looks quite peaceful with women walking around with their children or husband's.

There are no warriors in the borders, only a few of them of about 20.

Robert saw one of the warriors approaching him with a spear in his hand. He held his dagger tightly in case the warrior attacked him. There is no way he could run with his wounded leg so he just tightened his grip around the dagger in defence.

The warrior gets to where Robert is sitting on the rock and stops on his track. He looked Robert in the eyes and Robert did the same without batting an eyelid.

The warrior who has golden eyes and brown hair took his eyes off Robert's face and looked at his wounded leg.

"Who are you and what are you doing here?" He asks and Robert just looks at him without uttering a single word.

He doesn't even know what to say, what if he is their enemy or they are his enemy.

He can't reveal his identity to the warrior.
