A Donor

Roland's phone rang loudly, interrupting his leisurely Sunday morning. He checked the caller ID and saw it was Butler Lucas. He answered the phone with a hint of concern in his voice.

"Good morning, Butler. Is everything okay?" Roland asked.

"Mr. Roland, I'm sorry to disturb you on your day off. But it's an emergency. The doctor needs your attention and he needs you to come as soon as possible," Butler replied, sounding extremely worried.

Roland's heart skipped a beat. He knew how important Chairman Lafayette was to the company, and if he was in the hospital, it couldn't be good.

"What happened? Is he okay?" Roland asked, trying to keep his voice steady.

"I can't tell you over the phone. You need to come to the private hospital right away. Please hurry, Mr. Roland," Butler said, urgency creeping into his tone.
