Against All Odds

He knew that he had to be careful and patient if he wanted to succeed.

But just as he was gathering his thoughts, the door swung open, and a group of men burst into the room, guns in their hands.

Roland's heart raced as he recognized one of them as the person who had called him earlier.

"Where is it?" the person growled, his eyes flashing with anger.

Roland swallowed hard, knowing that he was in serious trouble.

"I don't know what you're talking about," he stammered, his voice weak.

But the person didn't believe him, and he raised his gun, aiming it straight at Roland's head.

"You have one last chance, Mr. Lafayette. Tell us where it is, or we'll make sure you never see your sister again."

Roland felt his eyes grow wide with fear as he realized that he was in grave danger.

"I don't have it," he said, his voice shaking. "I don't know where it is."

The person's eyes narrowed, and he lowered his gun slightly, but didn't put it away.
