I'm Back

Roland stood outside the police station, taking in the red brick facade that loomed before him. It was a tall building, with plenty of windows and a heavy wooden door.

The sun shone brightly, casting long shadows across the pavement and Roland felt a bead of sweat run down his back.

He took a deep breath and stepped towards the entrance, pulling open the door. As he entered the station, he was hit with the harsh smell of disinfectant and cleaning products.

His eyes scanned the room, taking in the rows of metal desks and filing cabinets.

A few uniformed officers sat at their computers, typing away but none of them paying him any attention.

"Excuse me," Roland said, approaching the closest officer. "I'm looking for Alex Lafayette."

The officer looked up, his eyebrows rising in surprise. "Are you a family member?"

"Half-brother," Roland confirmed, his heart beating faster in his chest. "Do you know where he is? I want to pay him a visit."
