Suspicious

Roland's grip on the phone tightened. He didn't want to talk to Alex. He wanted to put an end to this once and for all.

"What do you want, Alex?" he asked, his voice sounding more steely than he felt.

"I'm coming to town," Alex said, his voice almost a growl. "And I suggest you meet me. We have some unfinished business to attend to."

Roland's mind raced. He knew that meeting Alex would be dangerous, but he also knew that he couldn't just sit back and wait for things to happen.

"Fine," he said through gritted teeth. "But it's going to be on my terms. Meet me at the Lafayette headquarters tomorrow morning."

There was a long pause on the other end of the line.

"Very well," Alex finally said. "But I warn you, Roland. This will not end well for you."

With that, he hung up, leaving Roland feeling even more uneasy than before.

He knew that the next day was going to be critical. He had to come up with a plan, something that would give him the upper hand in this deadly game of power.
