We'll Fix This

The private hospital room was dimly lit, with only the warm glow of sunlight trickling in through the sheer curtains.

Roland stood at the doorway, his eyes fixated on his father who was sat up in his bed, eating his meal.

He had never seen his father like this; frail and depleted. Despite everything, there was still a sense of power and authority that radiated from the Chairman.

Butler Lucas was already in the room, standing awkwardly next to the bed.

Roland could feel his fingers curl into a tight fist at his side. He didn't know how he could face him after what he did.

"Please, do have a seat," Chairman Lafayette gestured to the chair in front of him.

Roland slowly made his way to it, his eyes never leaving his father's face.

"I have to apologize, Roland. To you and to Butler."

Roland raised an eyebrow, his eyes flickering to Butler for a moment. "Apologize? For what?"
