Victor walked out of the hospital and then got to his car. Gripping tight on the steering wheel, Victor hit it very hard.

“Damn you! No matter who you are, I promise to make you pay. I just pray you haven't done anything bad to my father yet, because I promise to hunt your entire generation down!” Victor said, his fist gripping very hard on the steering wheel, staring deeply at his clenched fist on the wheel.

Victor started the car, then accelerated away. Some minutes later, he was now at home. Dropping down from his car, Victor walked inside the house, his face formed in anger, his key swinging in his hands as he walked to his room.

Just as he was about to open his room door, his hands gripping the handle already, his name sounded from the stairs.

“Victor!” the voice called out.

It was his mum, and her voice sounded so confused as she ran down the stairs.

“What happened? I heard your father has been taken hostage by an unknown man!” she said, breathing hard.

The masked man went to the tank. Then, with a huge punch, he shattered the transparent glass tank open. He quickly dragged Eleanor out of the tank, removing the pipe that was connected to her mouth. What had been Brook's main intentions towards her? Why did he keep her in this place? the masked man thought to himself, confused about why Brook had sealed Eleanor in the tank."Do you know why your father had done this?" the masked man turned and asked Victor, who was struggling for breath on the ground."I don't know," Victor replied, touching his neck.Victor himself was surprised at the place he was currently in. He knew of the basement but had never been allowed to go inside. His father purely forbade him.

He wasn't expecting what he was currently seeing, he was puzzled and at the same time angry, thinking he would see a bunch of gold or something that was worth more. He dipped his hands and brought it out—it was a writing note, not any other note but a writing text number, and this text looked like a phone number."So, all this stress was just for me to retrieve a phone number from a damn time bomb?" Victor was infuriated, spending his time with his heart racing, thinking his hands would’ve been blown off. And now, after all this stress, he's holding a phone number written on a note.Victor hesitated for a while, staring at the phone number written on the note, then dippe

"Don't worry, you will be fine soon," the masked man muttered."What is your relationship with her anyway? Is she kind of related to you?" Hazel's voice cut in from the door side. When the masked man turned, he saw Hazel leaning her back on the side of the entrance, staring at him.The masked man gasped, then shifted his gaze back to Eleanor. "I can't say anything about that, sorry," the masked man replied."Ooh, is that so?" The doctor moved closer to Eleanor, and then used an object to check her body temperature. Shifting his gaze to the masked man, he said, "Her body temperature is normal now compared to before," he verified. At first, Eleanor's body temperature wasn't normal, and her brain was being altered with a kind of chemical, likely from the tank she had been soaked in by Brooks."In order to avoid any chance of her losing her memories, that injection is valuable — the injection the masked man gave to her earlier.""Sir, don't worry. By tomorrow, when she wakes up, she will be fully okay," the doctor added. After finishing his check-up on Eleanor and making sure everything was proper, he stood up. "I have to take my leave now," the doctor added, walking out of the house as he exited the residence. The next morning, the masked man was seated close to Eleanor on a chair, his hands folded onto his chest as he stared at her. Eleanor insisted, not helping the masked man talk to Brooks. There’s a specific thing the masked man wanted Brooks to tell him, but Brooks wasn’t ready to do that. He was so stubborn that, no matter how he was being tortured, he would never talk. Instead, he mocked the masked man with a sneer."Is that necessary?" the masked man asked with a sigh, not willing to open his mask for Eleanor to see his identity."If you are not doing as I required, then forget about it. I’m not helping you even a dim," Eleanor insisted, her hands folded across her chest as she looked away. Now that Eleanor had insisted, making it part of the requirements she could use to help the masked man, the masked man had no choice but to show only Eleanor his face, which at first he saw as something that wasn’t necessary.Being persistent, the object he was holding had said it all. The masked man gradually grasped the bottom of his mask, then pulled it up slowly, only exposing the lower part of his jaw—barely half o

Eleanor spoke with a scoff that ended with a sigh."As I told you earlier, if you give me the key, I promise to pull you out of this shithole you're in. And now you're pretending that you ain't with the key. That means death is calling upon you," Eleanor added. "Hey, you bastard! You old lady, don't toy with me. I think the key was with you. What the hell are you even saying?"Brooks, all this while, thought the key was with Eleanor and had even written in the note he gave to Victor, instructing him that Eleanor possessed very valuable information that he had to acquire from her no matter what. That's why, in the first place, when Victor gave in to the masked man's threat, he felt like he had disappointed his father in a way that death could be the only way out."I'm not in possession of the key anymore. I thought you took it from me the other time you invaded my house," Eleanor said."I didn't!
