Sarah and Sofia spent the night in the hospital but left the next morning and returned to the restaurant they owned.
Sarah couldn't ignore the fact that Aiden was the only one that would have to carry the burden of paying back the debt of William medical surgery bill.
Moroever there were still more outstanding debts they needed to repay. William's surgery would take place in the next two days.
Sarah figured that it wasn't compulsory that they stay next to William until the day his surgery was scheduled.
Therefore, Sarah decided to return to the restaurant to open the business and keep it running.
Sofia was supposed to go to school but she insisted on staying behind to assist Sarah clean the restaurant that was messed up due to the mishap that occurred a few days ago which caused William to be hospitalized.
They didn't have enough money to hire a staff, so they had no choice but to clean it up themselves which took an hour.
When the restaurant was opened for business, it took a couple of minutes for it to be completely filled with customers. In spite of the unfortunate incident that took place in the eatery, customers weren't discouraged from patronizing the eatery. This is because Sarah and William were a nice couple to all their customers.
The sales continued increasing and business continued booming. However, the sound of the raging engines of several bikes caught everyone's attention, and the peaceful tranquility was destroyed.
The bikes were parked right outside the restaurant and the riders entered the restaurant confidently.
"A small birdie told me that this wretched place was currently open and I am glad to see it wasn't false information. I have never been as curious to meet any of my client as you guys." The leader of the group named Slick said in a loud voice.
Sarah hurried over to greet them. "Good morning," she said with a bow
"Ah, just the person I wanted to see. How are you Mrs Sarah?" Slick asked with a sly smirk.
"I'm fine, Sir" Sarah said in a low tone
"That's a huge relief because I was extremely worried about you but someone significant seems to be missing." Slick paused and pretended to be looking around the room. "Where is your husband?" He asked as looked back at Sarah.
"He is in the hospital," Sarah replied.
"Isn't that a coincidence, one of my men is also at the hospital and do you know why?....it's because your husband had the guts to smash a bottle on his head, isn't that very brutal?" Slick said in a sacaristic tone with a frown on his face.
"I'm very sorry about that but it wasn't intentional." Sarah pleaded.
"Really…. I'm not intending to hold any grudges but you know why I'm here right now." Slick remarked.
Sarah rushed back to the counter and returned to where Slick was standing and handed over some cash to him.
"What is this meant for?" Slick asked with a raised eyebrow.
"That's your protection fee money," Sarah answered immediately.
Slick chuckled and turned to look at the rest of his lackeys standing behind him. "She thinks we are only here to collect our protection fee" he pointed at Sarah as they all laughed.
"Stop playing and wasting our precious time. Give me the rest of my money." Slick snapped at Sarah.
"What do you mean? I just paid you the full protection fee?" Sarah retorted.
You've just paid me the protection fee for today, what about the previous ones and my men's medical expenses?" Slick glared at Sarah.
"What are you talking about?" The shop wasn't even opened for the past few days and you want us to pay for your lackey's medical treatment?..... Did you forget that one of your lackeys stabbed my dad?....Are you planning to pay for his own treatment?" Sofia yelled furiously.
"Hey kid, your pathetic father attacked us first and we had to defend ourselves."
"Liar, if you didn't try to destroy our shop he would have attacked you first." Sofia argued vehemently.
"As long as you don't have any evidence to prove your accusation, it means we are innocent." Slick said with a wicked smirk.
Sofia realized that Slick was right and her accusations were baseless without any evidence to back it up. "You crazy bastards." She grumbled.
"If you don't have any irrelevant things to say, give me my money." Slick demanded.
"I don't have anymore cash. We just opened a few hours ago," Sarah explained.
Slick scoffed before flipping over the table next to him. "I don't care and all I want is money." He barked angrily.
Sarah jolted in fear at Slick's abrupt reaction. "Please give me a little more time and I'll pay you all the money."
She pleaded but Slick ignored her and continued wrecking the restaurant. At this point most of the customers had fled the restaurant to save their lives.
"If you don't want this place to be ruined, then all you have to do is comply with my request because I can't…..." Slick paused when his eyes noticed something strange. "That Sneaky brat."
Meanwhile, admist all the chaos, Sofia was secretly recording the entire scene with her cell phone. When Sofia realized Slick had discovered her, she immediately tried to escape with the evidence.
"Don't let that brat get away." Slick ordered his lackeys as quickly as possible. Who instantly surrounded Sofia and dragged her back to Slick.
"Let me go…"Sofia ranted.
"I can't as long as you have this with you." Slick snatched the phone from Sofia. Then he smashed the phone on the ground and asked rhetorically, "So you think you can use this as evidence?".
"I think I have been too lenient with you guys enough." Slick signaled his lackeys to destroy everything in the shop.
"No..No…No, please don't do this." Sarah begged but was ignored again.
Sarah eventually became agitated as she watched how the restaurant she spent a lot of time cleaning was being destroyed. She didn't even realize when she rushed towards Slick and slapped him on the face.
PAAAAAAAAA!
"Stop!" Sarah screamed at the top of her lungs.
The entire room fell silent as everyone stared at Sarah with shocked expressions. Even Slick was completely stunned because he didn't expect such a reaction from Sarah and this was the first time someone dared to hit him....in a while.
Sarah gasped when she realised what she had done and took a step backwards. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to do that." She quickly apologized.
"You crazy bitch" Slick cursed with a menancing glare.
As Slick approached Sarah, he grabbed her hand and squeezed it tightly. He raised his other hand as he intended to hit Sarah's face.
The moment Sarah saw Slick's hand flying towards her face, she tightly closed her eyes anticipating pain. However, Sarah felt nothing even after a couple of seconds passed. She slowly opened her eyes again and noticed Slick's hand a few inches away from her face but something prevented it from moving further.
Sarah turned her gaze to the side and was surprised to see Aiden standing next to her. He was holding Slick's arm that was about to hit her.
