Madam Cathy stared at the pile of expensive clothes Charles had picked out as she’d just seen a ghost. Was she dreaming, or had this man lost his mind?

The Charles she used to know was a broke delivery guy—always wearing the same worn-out sneakers, praying customers would tip him a few extra bucks. Now, here he was, acting like a millionaire?

She blinked rapidly, trying to process what she was seeing. “Are you sure about all this?” she finally asked, her voice shaky.

Charles smirked. “Of course. Or do you still want us to leave?” His confidence was like a slap to her pride.

Madam Cathy, a woman who loved money more than anything, quickly changed her attitude. She couldn’t afford to let a big spender like this walk out of her store.

“Leave? No, no, no!” she exclaimed, forcing a smile. “I was just helping you pick out the best styles before someone else grabs them. Our top designs sell out fast, you know.”

That was a lie. Their expensive suits barely sold because even the rich thought t

“What on earth is going on here?” Mrs. Jean asked again, her sharp eyes scanning the store. “Why is nobody working? Why is everyone just standing around like they have nothing better to do?”Before Cathy could speak, Charles stepped in. “That would be my fault,” he said casually. “We were just handling a little issue about how customers are being treated here. But don’t worry, I was just about to leave.”Cathy shot Charles a desperate look, silently pleading with him to keep quiet. She had never looked this nervous before, and Charles could tell she knew that if he spilled the truth, her job was as good as gone.“What kind of customer service problem are we talking about?” Mrs. Jean asked, clearly unimpressed. She glanced around at the staff, hoping this wasn’t what she thought it was. “I can’t believe any of my employees would treat customers badly. This store has a reputation to maintain.”Charles cleared his throat. “I’m Charles.”Before he could say more, Cathy quickly jumped in.

Charles and Alison stepped out of Jean Fashion House, both feeling like they had just won the lottery. Charles was over the moon, especially after putting Cathy in her place. Alison, on the other hand, was just happy to have a job that kept her entertained."Mr.Charles, that was wild!" she said, grinning. "So, what's next? Where are we going now?"Charles rubbed his chin, thinking. He had already gotten himself a house and a fancy car, but he needed something bigger—something that would make his name known in the city."I need to strike a deal with the manager of Diamond Hotel," he finally said.Alison raised an eyebrow. "A deal? You mean, like, a business partnership?""Nope," Charles replied with a smirk. "I want to buy Diamond Hotel."Alison almost tripped over her own feet. "Wait… what? Buy the whole hotel?!"Charles chuckled at her reaction. "Yep."She squinted at him, trying to see if he was joking. "Are you sure you can afford something like that? And what if the manager doesn’

The big announcement left everyone, especially the manager, speechless. Tyler couldn’t believe it when he heard that Charles had bought the hotel within just an hour of visiting. Most of the workers had no idea who he was, but they were happy about the change in ownership. Mr. Damien barely cared about their needs but worked them hard. They had complained endlessly to the manager, who couldn’t do anything since Damien was the CEO.“This is crazy,” the receptionist muttered to herself. “He just walked in here an hour ago. How is he so powerful?”The manager was stuck in his office, completely shocked. He couldn’t believe that Mr. Damien, who was so greedy, would actually agree to sell the hotel. He kept wondering what Charles did or said to get him to change his mind.“Finally!” the head chef said, relieved. “I really hope this new CEO isn’t as greedy as Damien. Maybe now we’ll get more kitchen equipment.”“Yeah, maybe,” another staff member added. In fact, everyone was pretty excited

The next morning, Alison arrived at Charles' mansion just as he was having breakfast. She looked really excited as she walked in and greeted him."Good morning, Charles! I hope you had a great night," she said, plopping down in a chair beside him."Good morning," Charles replied, his eyes narrowing slightly. "Is everything okay? You look like you’ve got something on your mind.""Yeah, I do," she said."Well, go ahead, tell me what’s going on.""When I got home yesterday, I was checking out some places to hire security for you, and I found out something interesting. There’s an auction going on at Kings Oakland Hotel today, at 3 pm.""An auction?" Charles raised an eyebrow. "What kind of auction?""Well, there’s going to be a bunch of stuff up for sale, but what I think you’d be interested in are the high-tech machines. They’re going to auction off some really cutting-edge technology, and all the big business people in town are eyeing them. It’ll definitely make their companies run smoo

He had a big grin on his face, and confidence was practically oozing out of him.James stared, his mouth hanging open, while Richard shot him a disgusted look. It was clear neither of them had expected Charles to be able to bid that much—especially not with a whopping 32 million dollars. The auctioneer, completely thrown off, took a moment to collect himself. "32 million dollars, going once! Going twice! And sold to Mr. Charles!"The place erupted into applause, and a lot of the businessmen in the room stood, clapping and looking at Charles with newfound respect. James sank back into his seat, fuming with frustration."How could I lose to Charles?" he muttered under his breath. Richard, feeling the weight of his problems pressing down on him, slowly drove to Bennett’s mansion. His mind was a tangled mess, each thought slipping and sliding like a broken record. Bankruptcy. It was a word that had been haunting him for days now. His company was on the edge of going under, and no one—no one—was offering any solutions. It was a nightmare that refused to go away.He pulled into the long driveway, his car tires crunching against the gravel as he made his way to the entrance. As soon as he stepped out of the car, he was greeted by the cold, silent air of Bennett's mansion. The house was as beautiful as ever, with its grand pillars and perfectly trimmed hedges. But there was no warmth in this place today. No smiles, no friendly greetings—just a heavy atmosphere that seemed to weigh Richard down even more. When Richard entered the mansion, the heavy silence followed him. He noticed the family sitting in the sitting room, their faces a mirror image of the storm brewing

I have a deal for you, and I think you’ll want to hear it."Charles rubbed his eyes. "Alright, Karen. You’ve got my attention. What’s this about?""I heard about how well you did at the auction yesterday and how your hotel’s stock is shooting up. I’ve been looking for a strong partner, and from what I’ve seen, you’re the one I want to work with. If you agree to this partnership, we’re offering you 200 million dollars. The silence between them was thick, and it felt like the calm before the storm.Charles, still recovering from the harsh blows earlier in the day, stared out the window. “Wake him up!” The shout was barely audible, muffled by the fog in Charles’ head. He tried to blink but couldn’t make sense of anything. All he could feel was the tight ropes around his wrists and the discomfort of the hard chair pressing against his back.He was completely blindfolded, unable to see a thing. Then, in a sudden motion, the blindfold was ripped away. Charles squinted against the harsh light, his eyes struggling to adjust. He looked around the room, but nothing about the place seemed familiar. It looked like a dilapidated, forgotten part of the world. Old walls were covered in grime, shattered windows let in streaks of cold, and the air smelled... well, it smelled terrible. Urine, mold, and something he couldn’t quite place—none of it was pleasant. He’d been dumped in an abandoned house, and that much was clear. His vision cleared up just a little, and that’s when he saw them. Six, guys. All standing in front of him. All wearing sneers could stop a train. They looked lik
