I observed something while I tried to help Skeral with the toxins in his body. The agents that they were made from were very thorough and plant-based, most likely hand-picked from the Night Elves' forest at its borders, but the main ingredient that was used to create the toxin came from a very old serpent that most likely lived at the bottom of the desert. This was a very deadly combination that I was only barely to withstand due to my tempered body and my continuous usage of poison in my training.Skeral was having a hard time not keeling over and dying right now, but as a demon, it would be quite awkward for him to die due to poison. The problem was that he was a little bit weakened on the surface compared to the time he was back in hell. The air in the living realm was completely different from the one in hell, and his constitution didn't seem to be able to adapt to the surroundings in the living realm.Combined with the toxins that were running through his veins right now, it made
After I made sure there was no one spying on us from the trees, I floated to the top of the lake and looked at the waterfall in front of me.Skeral recovered somewhat as we both thought about any way to breach the waterfall barrier and get inside. We also needed to do it quickly, or else we would have visitors from the Marauder tribe who would be wondering what had happened to their scouts.Since Alliron was doing soul experimentation during his stay on the Duramato continent, then the puzzle's answer had to do something with souls. It was only logical. But what should we do with our souls to enter the place behind the waterfall?I looked at Skeral and thought for a few seconds more before I told him my idea:"Since Demons are made out of pure soul energy that is corrupted by sins, do you think you can shed your physical body and return to the pure state where you are only a soul? If my guess is correct, I think only soul bodies should be able to pass this waterfall."Skeral glanced a
My speed had increased to the maximum as I tried to stop the Orc from retrieving whatever was inside his satchel, my speed increase surprised the Night Elves who were wondering what I was doing, but when they saw my urgency and the fact that the strongest Orc was trying to take something out of his drake-skin satchel, they quickly connected the dots.My speed was high enough, so I was able to slap the Orc's hand away from his satchel before he could open it. Then I tried to take it away from him by ripping the cord that was used to tie the satchel around his shoulder. However, the cord was surprisingly tough and flexible, making me unable to rip it apart quickly enough as I jumped backward to avoid the rusty sword that the Orc had swung at me after I had slapped his hand away from the satchel.Even though there were no runs on the sword, I could feel a powerful presence residing in it, which made me not want to get slashed regardless of how dull and rusty it seemed to be on the surfac
I could barely resist the insane magic waves coming from the carved totem, and I knew that I needed to destroy it before things got worse. But my body wasn't responding to my commands as I could barely move.I felt my blood clotting in my body as I realized that my limbs started decaying, making my eyes widen as stage two of the totem activated after absorbing enough mental energy from the Orcs and Night Elves.I created a small fire arrow as I pointed towards the fallen totem on the ground and shot it, but all that did was push the totem backward, making me recover somewhat as I evaded out of its range. The totem didn't have any scratches on it as it started shaking slightly, making the earth below me start shaking as well, creating a mini earthquake that could only be felt in the immediate surroundings.I recovered my wits before activating all of my boosting techniques instinctively, the blood armor, blood doping, lightning, haste...I took two steps backward as I launched five mor
I started with the Orcs since I was already used to their taste, they were a little bit cooked due to the explosion from the totem, but they still tasted rather horrendous. After finishing the remains, I moved toward the Night Elves, but out of the corner of my eyes I could see that one of the female elves was still breathing very shallowly, the fingers on her right hand moved slightly as she opened her eyes and started screaming like a madwoman. The effects of the insanity aura were still there, so I put her out of her misery before going ahead and eating the elves. My body exploded with a waterfall of energy that was seemingly endless after I finished eating all of the mixed remains from the Orcs and the Night Elves. The combination of Orcish and Elven energy gave me a rush as my body made cracking sounds to adapt to the elven energy, changing my skeleton slightly while creating a balance with the Orcish energy to move towards the 'perfect body type'. However, at this point, it wasn
After settling things between me and Skeral, we were finally getting on the road once again. Skeral created another spatial passage which we boarded before we made our way through, scanning the desert for more legacy pieces. Soon enough, we were able to find some, but we found that they were fragmented compared to all of the other complete legacies we found, which meant that we couldn't read or make use of the legacy until we got all of the pieces. But it didn't look like it fragmented during its long stay underground, but that it was fragmented in the first place, which meant that Alliron did this on purpose. What was he playing at? Scattering so many places with his experimentation sites, then doing something like this where he broke the information he left behind into more pieces intentionally. Was he trying to make the people who were finding his legacy fight amongst themselves? What was his intention? I and Skeral had to argue about our previous promise that I would give hi
Seeing how I was interested in his words made Alliron smile as he said:"So you don't buy the myths about hell and heavens as well, am I right?"I couldn't say I truly didn't since I never interacted with someone who could reinforce my disbelief, but I had my thoughts regarding this matter which were coincidentally in line with Alliron's thinking.Seeing how I didn't respond made Alliron chuckle as he told me:"You think that hell would be in its current situation if those Gods didn't interfere to do something?"I cocked my head to the side, so hell's matter wasn't an inside job where the current demons revolted against the special torture that was supposed to be inflicted on their bodies and mutated?"For starters, hell was always only a place where the dead of this planet would go to reincarnate, sins didn't matter much as there were no tortures or the like, sinful people were just given shittier and lowlier lives compared to what they had previously, some of them would even be rein
The surroundings around me cracked and broke as I woke up near Skeral, who was looking at my blank expression before saying:"You ok? You have stood there like that for three seconds even though I called you."I nodded before ripping a piece of the golden ball and handing it over to Skeral, making him grab it quickly as he jumped a few meters away from me before asking:"What did the scroll entail?"I looked down at my hands where the scroll previously was before shaking my head and saying:"It's some more special experiments and soul techniques that Alliron did, but they were meant only for one person to claim due to the fragile old paper, and the way Alliron ripped it to pieces made it quite weak."Skeral was skeptical towards my words, but I ignored him as I opened the map of the desert that Alliron gave me in my mind before I drew Xs over the places that we already visited and took the legacies from there, leaving behind only the areas that supposedly still had legacies, if they w
