I started with the Orcs since I was already used to their taste, they were a little bit cooked due to the explosion from the totem, but they still tasted rather horrendous. After finishing the remains, I moved toward the Night Elves, but out of the corner of my eyes I could see that one of the female elves was still breathing very shallowly, the fingers on her right hand moved slightly as she opened her eyes and started screaming like a madwoman. The effects of the insanity aura were still there, so I put her out of her misery before going ahead and eating the elves. My body exploded with a waterfall of energy that was seemingly endless after I finished eating all of the mixed remains from the Orcs and the Night Elves. The combination of Orcish and Elven energy gave me a rush as my body made cracking sounds to adapt to the elven energy, changing my skeleton slightly while creating a balance with the Orcish energy to move towards the 'perfect body type'. However, at this point, it wasn
After settling things between me and Skeral, we were finally getting on the road once again. Skeral created another spatial passage which we boarded before we made our way through, scanning the desert for more legacy pieces. Soon enough, we were able to find some, but we found that they were fragmented compared to all of the other complete legacies we found, which meant that we couldn't read or make use of the legacy until we got all of the pieces. But it didn't look like it fragmented during its long stay underground, but that it was fragmented in the first place, which meant that Alliron did this on purpose. What was he playing at? Scattering so many places with his experimentation sites, then doing something like this where he broke the information he left behind into more pieces intentionally. Was he trying to make the people who were finding his legacy fight amongst themselves? What was his intention? I and Skeral had to argue about our previous promise that I would give hi
Seeing how I was interested in his words made Alliron smile as he said:"So you don't buy the myths about hell and heavens as well, am I right?"I couldn't say I truly didn't since I never interacted with someone who could reinforce my disbelief, but I had my thoughts regarding this matter which were coincidentally in line with Alliron's thinking.Seeing how I didn't respond made Alliron chuckle as he told me:"You think that hell would be in its current situation if those Gods didn't interfere to do something?"I cocked my head to the side, so hell's matter wasn't an inside job where the current demons revolted against the special torture that was supposed to be inflicted on their bodies and mutated?"For starters, hell was always only a place where the dead of this planet would go to reincarnate, sins didn't matter much as there were no tortures or the like, sinful people were just given shittier and lowlier lives compared to what they had previously, some of them would even be rein
The surroundings around me cracked and broke as I woke up near Skeral, who was looking at my blank expression before saying:"You ok? You have stood there like that for three seconds even though I called you."I nodded before ripping a piece of the golden ball and handing it over to Skeral, making him grab it quickly as he jumped a few meters away from me before asking:"What did the scroll entail?"I looked down at my hands where the scroll previously was before shaking my head and saying:"It's some more special experiments and soul techniques that Alliron did, but they were meant only for one person to claim due to the fragile old paper, and the way Alliron ripped it to pieces made it quite weak."Skeral was skeptical towards my words, but I ignored him as I opened the map of the desert that Alliron gave me in my mind before I drew Xs over the places that we already visited and took the legacies from there, leaving behind only the areas that supposedly still had legacies, if they w
Finding the other legacy parts wasn't very hard, considering I had a detailed map of where I could get them, but in the end, I was only able to get seven of the legacy parts, while three were held by the Orcs. The two books made one part, and the soul forging and soul gold made two parts, even though it was incomplete, I still had my half of the gold after I gave Skeral the promised amount. The clock made the third part, and the shovel made the fourth part. The fifth part consisted of a special pencil made out of stone which contained the legacy of soul writing, with his experiments Alliron had been able to learn how to use his soul to write messages hidden by the normal sight of mortal beings, but the technique itself was very useless in most situations unless you had someone strong enough as an ally to help you after they saw your soul message. The sixth part was what I had been looking for a little bit of time since I had to get rid of Shuria. It was a small golden fork that contai
My soul improvements were massive, making me understand things that I previously was unable to.Of course, the understanding didn't run very deep, but it still showed that my progress was affecting me on a deep level that was starting to shift my talent in the right direction!I couldn't help but become a little bit happy as the embers of Shuria's soul tried to curse at me while I devoured him wholly. However, no sound could come out of his soul as the top side had already been wolfed down into my soul.My laugh started to echo into my mindscape as I opened my eyes to the real world and glanced at Skeral, who was just putting the finishing touches on his broken horn, finally fixing it and recovering his previous powers.I dusted my armor as I got up and glanced at Skeral's changing body. His previously red skin was getting white tints on it as a tattoo-like branch started to spread and cover the top of his body, hugging his chest and giving him a strange look. His left horn started to
I could feel Skeral's consciousness fragment as I slowly broke him using the soul-consuming technique. Still, those intrusive thoughts from his consciousness were slowly melding into mine as he didn't lose his individuality yet.I could feel those thoughts that I separated from his main soul and devoured them, they were all trying to wrest control of my own soul, but they were easily being crushed under the overwhelming difference of my newly strengthened soul that just finished the integration with Shuria. My eyes glowed brightly as I felt Skeral trying to fight back using his soul.As a demon, his soul was quite strong, and previously I haven't trained my soul at all, if I didn't devour Shuria first, who was a particularly old and strong soul, I would have had a hard time fighting Skeral's soul counterattacks. But now, I was able to easily parry them as I continued to devour the whole being that made Skeral up.My soul was slowly strengthening under the constant addition of the mass
Darnioz's strange interference made me think heavily about the strength and abilities of the demons that even Skeral was unable to learn about in his brief life in the 13th layer. He was able to grow quickly through treachery and his innate talent, soon enough, the memories that couldn't affect me very much started to seep into my soul after Skeral lost control of everything that made him up, thus leading to the full consumption of his soul.He had lost everything, and his everything had become mine now.The other memories contained his inherited techniques as a demon along with the way he had grown to his current strength. He had betrayed and made contracts with low-level humans at small intervals, getting his way to the 13th layer of hell where he started, and failed a coup against Darnioz. However, the techniques that he contained were mostly unusable to me, at least the ones that had to do with the demonic lineage as I was unable to create the contracts and binds that demons could
