The treants' voices started to become buzzes in my ears as my senses were getting dulled by the flames roasting both my body and my soul.

I already knew it was gonna come to this. The legacies were only the keys that could be used to open the door that led to Alliron's prison. He had marked the location of the prison inside the legacies. Only the medium plus the incantation that the treants were singing were used to break open the dimensional wall that was between us and the place that kept Alliron locked up.

I was the medium because my body was tough enough to withstand the aftereffects of breaking open the gods' prison.
