Chapter 2: A Deal for a Divorce.

He scowled.

Why would he be wanted by the Old Master?

He released Alexa's hold that he had been holding up, preventing her from smacking him, while trying to contain the anger he was feeling at the time. He gave Alex a cold stare before speaking calmly.

“People with common bad behavior and interest for sure get together, I am not surprised” he had more pressing concerns than a couple that detested him.

He wondered why Lena's father was calling him, he quickly made his way upstairs to His study. Knocking on the door, he heard a voice that told him to get in. Getting in, he closed the door behind as he walked slowly towards Mr. brown, who was putting on a black long sleeve and black pants.

“You called for me, sir” he said as he stood in Front of him.

Brown calmly replied, “Oh yeah, I did, Levi, take a seat.” Levi was astonished and interested to see where it would all go. He sat down on one of the chairs and silently regarded Mr. Brown.

Mr. Brown muttered, “Excellent.”

He spoke carefully, saying, “You and I both know how much of a Failure you are; the title Loser is an understatement for you.”

Levi, who on the outside appeared calm, clenched his fist in response to the insult because he was sick of being called a loser and a Nobody.

“Well, Levi, as much as I hate to do this, I want to help you out. I want to help you start up your own firm, your own company that you can raise with a thunderous check of $100,000,000 and a very fine house for $35,000,000,” the man said. Mr. Brown paused to take in Levi's expression. When he said what he wished to give him, Levi gave the impression that he was calm while remaining silent.

“So tell me what the catch is? I think you can't just do that because you love me; I know that's not the case at all.” Levi spoke; he has been with them for years, and he is very much aware of their potential for deceit.

The room erupted in laughter as Mr. Brown said, “I guess you are not so foolish, but as I was saying, I will do all that only on one condition,” but the laughter quickly subsided.

He opened a drawer and took out a packet of cigarette . After taking out one, he put the pack of cigarette back, lit up the cigarette he pulled out and began to smoke.

“Well, Sir, what is the condition?” Levi inquired.

“You will have to divorce Lena, you will divorce her, go away from her and never come back, I am willing to pay you that sounding amount, I will help you build your company and I will get you a house and multi Million cars if you agree to divorce her” He released the smoke, he had a smirk as his lips slanted.

Levi growled Immediately, a frown found its way to his face.

“and how do I know that you are going to keep to your words?” He asked.

“What do you think? Levi, I've known you for a while, and you know me too, so you should be aware that I am not a man who makes empty promises. Simply divorce her, and everything I've promised will be carried through. Or do you need to give it some thought?” He laughed, “Levi, I trust you to make the best choice for yourself. It's obvious that you are a failure; you have nothing to your name; you are a nobody. Don't you want something to enrich your life? Or do you prefer a mere woman to this, huh?” Mr. Brown inquired.

Mr. brown is Lena's father from Los Angeles, but they moved to Italy when he got newly married to his Wife, Martha. Mr brown is a bit Short but with a fit body, a mustache on his face with brown eyes and brownish hair.

“Mr. Brown, if I may ask? Why do you need me to Divorce Lena?” as much as Mr. Brown's proposal made him sick, he was keen to know.

“Is it not clear? Because she is the most attractive female child I have and a successful woman, my daughter is simply too beautiful and successful to marry a loser like you. Because your presence around her brings shame to my family name, I want a better man for my daughter, not a nobody like you. When was the last time you treated her to a costly gift or took her on vacation? Due to Lena's breathtaking beauty, many wealthy suitors are interested in her” Levi scowled, his body filled with rage.

How could they be so unappreciative?

He was the same man who had cured and cared for her when nobody wanted her.

He laughed mentally in his head

“So tell me, are you taking the deal or not?”

“I am sorry Sir, but I will not take this offer” he stood up from the chair, clenching his fist, trying to appear calm, he was being insulted right to his face, and it was as if it was nothing, it pained him, and he hated it so much.

Mr. Brown dropped the cigarette as he frowned

“I will double the amount” he said immediately without thinking.

“I don't need your money, sir. Lena has supported me through every difficult period of my life, and I will undoubtedly do the same for her. I wouldn't sacrifice my marriage for a business, a house, or any amount of money” He was already aware that he could spend the money more effectively, but he still finds it difficult to accept the offer, especially since Lena has been so supportive of him.

Mr. Brown immediately laughed, but it contained anger and mockery.

“How dare you reject my offer? I am offering you something good, something that would change your stupid useless Life forever and this, this is what it results to? You should even be ashamed of yourself. Other sons-in-law are doing great stuff for their Father and mother-in-law, but what have you done? Live in my house and eat my food”.

“With respect sir, I refuse to divorce my own wife because of this, now this is me asking and begging you not to bring this up ever again, sir” He was having enough.

“Just when I thought a loser would be at least intelligent, you surprised me, you are a shame to this family and if you don't take time, I would kick you out of this house and I will make your life a living hell, you have just two days to consider this, just two, now get the hell out of my study room,” he yelled. Levi calmly left the study room, but was surprised to see Lena standing outside.

“Lena?” He called, and she smiled.

“I heard he called for you; what was the deal?” She inquired as she took his hand in hers.

“Let's get to our room first, Honey” she nodded as they Both walked silently to their room. Once they were inside, she locked the door as her eyes fell on Levi, who sat on a chair lost in thought.

“So you said my father called you. What was the point of that?” She asked calmly as she drank a bottle of water before lying down on the bed.

“I'd rather not discuss it.”

“I am Your wife, Levi.”

He paused for a fraction of a second before saying.

“Fine, he wants to pay me one hundred million dollars, along with a car, a house, and my own company, if I divorce you.” He told her plainly, A frown appeared on Lena's face.

“Did you consent to that?”

“Of course not! I am not going to risk all we have for that, besides knowing your father, he is a dirty man, he loves to play dirty, although he still gave me a few days to make up my mind” Levi Added, Lena's brows were creased at this. Lena was beautiful, Sharp curvy figure, tall, she had a model – like type of Body Brown hair with Brown eyes with her flawless white skin.

Lena was the first daughter of Mr. Brown. She was a well-known and popular model, she even has her own modelling organization, and it is one of the best top-notch model Companies in Italy.

“I am glad, that you made a good decision, Gosh! How can my father be so Damn cruel”.

“Unfortunately, it's all because I am helpless and a loser,” Levi Mumbled, she could see that he was angry.

“I am sorry about earlier today, about what happened in the dinning room, I just did not want anyone humiliating you, you know how they all are”

“it is fine, don't worry about it” he stood up

“Anyway, I wanted to inform you that it is time for Dinner and my mom wants everyone down, let's go” Lena walks up to him, taking his hand.

“I don't care what other people think of you; do you know what I do? I care about you and am here for you; just ignored their conversations” He gave a light smile as she whispered to him.

In that cruel world, she was his staunchest ally. Nobody treated him with respect, not even a child, and everyone saw him as a total loser, which he despised. He couldn't help but think about her father's threat to divorce her if he didn't.

When they arrived in the dining room, a few chairs were empty, so they sat together on the left side of the table. Alexa and Alex walked in, followed by everyone else. Dinner was served as they talked little by little.

“Oh, Levi” Martha called, Suddenly Levi, who was quite , looked at her.

“Yes, Ma”

“When do you plan to divorce my daughter? I mean, she can't be married to a loser forever, that's so unfair for a beautiful young lady like her, don't you think?” She said jokingly, but he knew that she meant it, Everyone laughed.

“I don't plan to Divorce her” he said, and the whole place went quiet for a moment

“Mother, can we please not talk about this now?” Lena glared at her mother.

“Oh Mom, I forgot to tell you that Alexander has just bought a car for me” Alexa said, smiling widely.

“That's good, that's the type of Son-in-law I want, not the one that would eat from my pot forever”

“Levi, you are such a Shame honestly, as rich as I am, I am even trying to work more as not to bring Shame to this family, as your fellow man, I must say that it is a shame, you don't need to bear the title as a man Because you don't worth it, I think you should be castrated” Levi gripped hard on the fork as he gritted his teeth

“He should leave this house, Father. If he can't get a house, then he can sleep in the street” Alexa commented.

“I have already given him a time limit” Mr. Brown said.

“Oh God,” Martha cried as she picked up a tissue, she started wiping her tears, Levi's frown deepened.

“Mother, why are you crying?”

Lena asked

“What is wrong, my dear?”

“Mom, are you okay?”

“No, I am not, how can I be okay when I have such a Beautiful daughter Who wants to spend the rest of her life marrying a looser, a nobody? This is such a Shame! What have I ever done to deserve this?” she cried more.

'Such a dramatic family' Levi thought with a low, light scoff.

He shook his head as he could remember clearly when He met Lena years back. Lena was a beauty, he had an interest in her, but then she got into a serious accident that caused her serious injuries. She could not walk again, her chances of walking were just five percent according to the doctor, so she was likely to spend the rest of her life in a wheelchair. Nobody wanted to marry her, all her suitors left her as nobody wanted to marry a crippled Lady. Levi, who loved her from the start, wanted to marry her. Soon they started hanging out and got married. He made a cure which he believed would heal and strengthen her body, giving her the ability to walk again. Little by little, Two months After their marriage she was able to walk a bit, but in a year time she was capable of walking firmly again. After her family saw that she was back to being the beautiful daughter they once had, they wanted Lena to divorce him.

“Please, Excuse me” He dropped the fork and spoon as he left the dinning room, but before he went far, he heard.

“If he won't divorce her, then we will kill him!”
