Chapter 2. Begin New Life; Reincarnation

"I still don't understand anything. Explain to me who you are," Victor urged the system voice that appeared.

SYSTEM: You can call me Emanuella, I am the system. I've been living inside you and turned on after you were on the brink of death.

Victor was stunned. "Death threshold?"

SYSTEM: Would you like to play your last memory as Victor?

"Yes! Of course! What happened to me?!" Victor asked urgently.

Soon the holographic screen displaying Benyard's personal details changed. The screen now showed the last time Victor was tortured by his parents and his younger brother.

Then, Victor winced in shock after witnessing the scene of his body being thrown into the river.

"Did they kill me on purpose?" asked a stunned Victor.

SYSTEM: Yes, your family members tried to kill you, but you chose to continue your life. That's why I helped you to come back to life.

"Why as someone else?" Victor was confused. "Is this really real? I'm in someone else's body like what happens in movies and books?"

SYSTEM: Of course it's real. Your real body is in a deep coma, Victor.

SYSTEM: Your task now is to complete missions to achieve the wealth I've given you in order to return to your original body.

SYSTEM: Your life is now the complete opposite of what it was as Victor. You have to build everything from scratch, manage the business from scratch, and achieve wealth to be able to take revenge on them.

SYSTEM: I've sent one hundred million dollars to your balance account. Check it now.

At that moment Victor was still silent because he was confused. What was happening now was too unbelievable.

"Taking revenge on them? I don't want revenge. The reason I didn't fight back... wasn't it because I let the Lawen Innovate Group company be taken by Jackson?" Victor tried to recall the last incident.

SYSTEM: That's right, but unfortunately you can't let Jackson lead the company. You are destined to be the heir to Lawen Innovate Group, and forever will be.

SYSTEM: Now follow what I say, Victor. Check Benyard's account balance now.

Victor then cast his eyes around the room. Everything seemed to be placed haphazardly. He finally found the cell phone on the nightstand, hidden behind a food wrapper.

Victor walks over to the nightstand to retrieve his cell phone. Victor opened it and saw that Benyard's cell phone was password locked.

"What's the password, Manuella?" Victor asked the system.

SYSTEM: 001567

Victor presses the number the system told him and the phone's lock screen opens.

As instructed by the system, Victor then opened the banking app and checked his account balance. His eyes widened as he saw the sum of $100,000,000 there.

"Are you kidding me, Manuella! You really gave me this much money?!" Victor was shocked.

SYSTEM: I told you, I am a system of money and wealth. In return for the hundred million I gave you, you have to do a mission.

Holding his cell phone, Victor was curious. "What do I have to do?"

SYSTEM: You must use the $75 million for the debt that Benyard owes. But you have to go to work first.

SYSTEM: It's already seven o'clock. It's about time.

Victor's eyes shifted to the clock on the nightstand, then glanced up in surprise.

"That's right! I have to work now!"

"Hey! What are you doing in the VVIP-only elevator?!" A bodyguard appeared blocking Victor who wanted to go to the VVIP-only elevator.

"You're just an office boy! How dare you use the VVIP elevator!" The other bodyguard immediately pushed Victor's shoulder roughly.

Victor was momentarily stunned as his body took a few steps back. He looked at the three bodyguards blocking him. Why did it feel so strange?

"I am Victor! Why are you preventing me from using the VVIP elevator?!" Victor raised his voice to the three bodyguards.

Instantly the three bodyguards in front of Victor laughed mockingly.

"You are Lord Victor? Hey, wake up, you useless Benyard office boy!" One of the bodyguards cursed.

"Victor is in a coma in the hospital anyway! How could he transform into a geeky office boy like you?" Then, another bodyguard chimed in with a curse.

Hearing those words of ridicule brought Victor to his senses. He looked at himself, seeing that he was not Victor, but Benyard Owlen.

'Gosh, how could I have forgotten?!' Victor thought to himself.

SYSTEM: Wake up, Victor. You are not the same Victor you once were. You're the Benyard who was always the subject of ridicule and contempt in your company.

Victor spontaneously said, "Shut up, Manuella! I'm trying to come to my senses now!"

Instantly the mocking laughter of the three bodyguards in front of Victor stopped. They looked at each other in surprise.

"Have you lost your mind?" asked one of the bodyguards. "No wonder no one wants to be around you. People like you are so stupid and ignorant!"

Victor was shocked to hear the taunts from the three bodyguards. All this time, he had been trying to build Lawen Innovate Group into a generous and friendly company.

All this time, Victor had received respectful treatment from the employees. Also, he thought that there were no enemies among the company's employees.

Apparently, behind Victor, there are employees of his company who are oppressed?

"What's going on here?" Someone's voice was heard from behind.

The three bodyguards immediately stopped their laughter and simultaneously bowed their respective bodies. Out of curiosity, Victor also turned his gaze back.

Jackson's figure wearing a full body black suit came with a bodyguard and Fredic. They approached Victor's presence with a look of astonishment.  

Victor was surprised to see Fredic beside Jackson. For a few seconds, he couldn't say anything.

"Is that Fredic?" muttered Victor very quietly.

SYSTEM: That's right. He's your personal secretary.

'How did Fredic become Jackson's personal secretary? What's going on now?' Victor wondered.

"Hey, you're the so-called useless Benyard office boy, right?!" Jackson grabbed Victor's left collar with a disgusted smile.

Victor snapped out of his reverie. He looked at Jackson's hand on his left side, silently gritting his teeth.

"What are you doing in the VVIP elevator area, huh?" Jackson asked.

"He wanted to take the VVIP elevator, Lord Jackson, and he thought he was Lord Victor," explained one of the bodyguards.

Jackson laughed sarcastically as he pushed Benyard's left shoulder. As Victor was still staring at Fredic, Benyard's body wavered with just a push from Jackson.

"Hey, office boy geek! Why do you think you deserve VVIP access?! A poor, lowly person like you shouldn't expect to experience elite facilities!"

Victor moved his glare to Jackson. At that moment, Victor accidentally noticed a small name tag on his right side pocket.

[JACKSON ALBERTO LAWEN]

[CEO LAWEN INNOVATE GROUP]

What?! Jackson is already the CEO of this company?!

"Hey, loser!" Jackson is now gripping the collar of Victor's office boy uniform. "I noticed you a few times while delivering drinks to the VVIP guest meeting room, and I realized you were the one who defended Victor and argued with me out loud that time, right?"

Victor furrowed his eyebrows. Benyard defended Victor? What the hell is going on?

"You're just an office boy! Now Victor, your favorite boss, is in a coma and will die in the hospital!" Jackson ended his sentence with a mocking laugh.

"So, now that I'm the CEO of this company, you must submit! Keep doing your job well, or..."

Jackson pulled Victor's body closer. With a piercing gaze and a sly smirk, he whispers, "...you'll end up like Victor!"

Before Victor could answer, Jackson pushed Victor's body hard. Then Jackson gives the code for Fredic to walk after him.  

There was nothing Victor could do now. His eyes watched Fredic, who looked very submissive and respectful to Jackson. There was a scar on Fredic's face.

'That must be the scar from that night,' Victor thought.

"Oh, hey, loser, don't forget to bring the Dutch tea to my office now!" Jackson commanded.

SYSTEM: Do as Jackson says, Victor. There's something very important you need to see.

Victor silently clenched his hands into fists. In all his years as CEO of this company, no one had dared to treat him like this.

Anger welled up in his chest. Victor felt disappointed that Fredic chose to submit to Jackson's orders. On the other hand, there was a feeling of unacceptance after learning that Jackson had become the CEO of Lawen Innovate Group.

SYSTEM: Victor! Wake up! You can't get carried away with your feelings right now!

"Shut up, Manuella! You don't understand what I'm feeling right now!" grumbled Victor, his voice low this time.  

SYSTEM: I understand. But you'd better do Jackson's bidding and see something you never realized you had.
