Chapter 4. He's A Killer!!

"I feel very sorry for the accident that happened to Victor as the owner of Lawenn Innovate Group.

You all know that Victor was the leader who kept Lawenn Innovate Group in its heyday for many years.

I know everyone in this room feels the same sorrow as I do. I hope you all pray for Victor's safety."

On the stage of one of Lawenn Innovate Group's grand corporate rooms, Jackson stood as CEO. VIP guests, investors, and media reporters filled all the seats.

"Really, my feelings are very mixed right now. The accident that happened to my brother Victor broke my heart, but I'm also relieved that the Lawenn Innovate Group company didn't fall into the wrong hands." Jackson continued his previous sentence.

Jackson sighed heavily and showed a troubled expression. Victor's photo, which was displayed on the LED projector screen, made Jackson look sad.

"I can assure you that Lawenn Innovate Group will thrive in my hands. I will not waste the opportunity I have now."

The sound of thunderous applause echoed through the room. Jackson turned his gaze to the people spread out before him.

"Tonight I will bring you all under my leadership. As you know, the company Lawenn Innovate Group places great importance on outstanding business innovations.

As of now, the Lawenn Innovate Group already houses various business fields: the culinary field, that is, there are..."

Jackson stepped aside to the right side of the stage as the LED projector screen displayed a corporate building belonging to Lawenn Innovate Group.

"...the company U&K Healthy Barefood which also has three restaurants under it. There is Paradise Food Bar & Resto, Mokamako Bread Restaurant, Ocean Kreckes Hosue. All three are spread across New York City, Orlando, and Atlanta."

When the LED screen showed all the restaurants under Lawenn Innovate Group, all eyes in the room looked up in awe. Even though they already knew that Lawenn Innovate Group was that big, they were still amazed over and over again.

"We also have a chemical company that produces and distributes all medicines, we pay a lot of attention to the quality of production of health products.

From this Lawenn Innovate Pharmacy chemical plant, we also distribute beauty and skincare products. We have three beauty brands called..."

Jackson continued to talk about all the branches of companies under the Lawenn Innovate Group. Everyone was silent as they listened to Jackson speak.

"Therefore, I will now be in charge of all the companies under the Lawenn Innovate Group. I have prepared several business innovations that will surely increase the company's profits."

After saying that, one of the media reporters raised his hand. Jackson looked at the reporter and extended his hand, pointing at him.

"Yes, please speak. Is there anything you'd like to ask about the things I explained?" Jackson asked with a sweet smile.

The media reporter Jackson had pointed to stood up. He was a bit hesitant to say his question.

"I'm going to ask a pretty important question to everyone here. After you are appointed CEO of Lawenn Innovate Group, what will be your focus for development?"

Jackson immediately snapped his fingers while nodding his head briefly. Jackson smiled even wider after hearing the reporter's question.

"Good question! I've been thinking about this for quite some time actually. Ever since Victor's leadership, I've felt that there was something lacking in development. That is the Lawenn Innovate Pharmacy company."

Everyone in the room instantly became very curious about Jackson. Including the media reporters who immediately prepared their notes.

"What I will do to expand Lawenn Innovate Pharmacy is to design care products for women, especially for all ages. I will also focus on medicine production and distribution, which has been weakened."

While Jackson was explaining aloud, from one side of the stage, Fredic was approached by one of the bodyguards. Fredic realized something was up because the bodyguard's face looked nervous and his steps were hurried.

"There's a commotion going on outside the room, you need to help secure it," said one of the bodyguards on guard duty at the front of the room.

Fredic was puzzled, so he ran a little fast following the hurried bodyguard. He was already feeling uncomfortable.

"What's the commotion?" asked Fredic in between his steps.

"An employee forced his way into the room and was about to protest against Mr. Jackson," the bodyguard replied.

"An employee?" Fredic was even more astonished.

Soon Fredic and the bodyguard arrived at the side door of the room. The pathway led outside the room so Fredic could witness the sight of two bodyguards trying to restrain someone who was struggling.

Fredic was dumbfounded as his steps slowed. Fredic had no idea who the very brave employee was—

"LET GO! HEY, I NEED TO TALK TO THAT NEW CEO!"

Benyard?

Fredic was even more surprised to see Benyard's figure suddenly become so arrogant. Benyard repeatedly jerked his hand to the point of elbowing and punching the bodyguard in the face.

"Benyard!" exclaimed Fredic as he arrived near Benyard.

Fredic's voice made Benyard, whose body was being controlled by Victor without anyone knowing, turn around. Instantly, Victor in Benyard's body curved a lopsided smile.

"Ah, the traitorous secretary," Victor said, much to Fredic's surprise.

Fredic took offense at the remark. But he chose not to care too much.

"Hey, let go of his hands," Fredic said to the two bodyguards on Benyard's right and left.

Victor looked at the two bodyguards who had been gripping his hands in annoyance. Victor sneered at them before looking sharply at Fredic.

"I have to go inside. It shouldn't be Jackson speaking as CEO!" said Victor. His heart was burning with rage, making him unaware of being in Benyard's body.

Suddenly, Fredic slaps Victor, whom he sees as Benyard, for calling Jackson disrespectful.

"You're just an office boy. Don't go too far!" said Fredic.

Victor held his cheek with a furious expression towards Fredic. Victor laughed sarcastically, laughing at himself for trusting Fredic for so many years.

Now Victor was watching Fredic betray him and protect Jackson. Shouldn't Fredic, who witnessed his death that night, defend him?

"I cannot comply with your request. Only Mr. Victor should be standing there, not anyone else!" said Victor, who deliberately spoke like Benyard.

Before Fredic could say anything, Victor looked towards the door of the other lane that Fredic had passed through earlier. Without further ado, Victor ran straight through Fredic to that door.

Meanwhile, Fredic was immediately surprised by Victor's sudden movement. He hurried to catch up with Victor who had run through the door of his lane a moment ago.

Victor and Fredic's steps were hasty. Victor could hear Jackson's voice still explaining about business innovation as the CEO of Lawenn Innovate Group.

Just as they reached the half-open door, Victor kicked it open until a loud thud echoed through the grand room. Victor emerged from behind the door and made everyone in the room look at him.

On stage, Jackson stopped talking and was dumbfounded by Benyard's arrival. He also had no idea that Benyard's body was being controlled by Victor.

"AH! LOOK WHO'S TALKING!" Victor, as Benyard, spoke loudly with a forced laugh.

"What's this?" Jackson asked in an exasperated tone. His gaze looked left and right. "Bodyguard! Why let someone who isn't a guest come in?!"

Victor walked quickly along the edge of the room. Everyone looked at him in confusion, as the atmosphere became a buzz of whispers. The media reporters also looked at each other asking questions.

"SHOULDN'T THE PERSON THERE BE MR. VICTOR?!" Victor said again.

Victor's steps, which still controlled Benyard's body, passed through the various bodyguards. Victor made several attacks to avoid being detained.

Finally Victor's steps accelerated as he approached the stage.

"You all betrayed Mr. Victor! Why did you so easily trust him to become the next CEO of Lawenn Innovate Group?!" Victor said loudly again.

Instantly everyone became even more confused. Some media reporters began to pick up their cameras, filming or taking pictures.

"Why did you make this murderer the CEO of a big company?!"

After Victor's words were heard, they were all immediately shocked. They were dumbfounded and looked stunned for a few seconds.

On stage, Jackson was infuriated by Victor's words-which he saw as Benyard. Jackson recalled that he had told Benyard not to interfere, but now Benyard was disobeying his orders.

"Don't just talk!" Jackson retorted. "You have no proof that I'm a murderer! I know you just want to bring me down."

Victor burst out laughing. "No proof? What if I find it?" he asked.

Then Victor climbed the steps and shouted loudly in front of everyone.

"He's a murderer! Isn't it strange that he became CEO right after Mr. Victor went into a coma in the hospital?!" Victor asked in a loud voice.

"Benyard, you're out of your mind!" Jackson snapped. He looked at the people in the room. "Everyone, I apologize for the mess. He's just a rude office boy!"

"Do you think you can take over this company?" Victor tried to give off an intimidating aura.

Jackson looked at Benyard, who was actually being controlled by Victor, with both eyebrows drawn together. There was also annoyance in his expression.

Jackson approached Victor and took one of his hands to grip. As he held the microphone in his hand away, Jackson whispered.

"What are you doing? You should know this isn't Victor's era anymore, you idiot!" Jackson warned.

Victor's grin grew wider. He moved his face away and stared at Jackson as if challenged.

As Victor in Benyard's body, he said, "You will not be able to take Lawenn Innovate Group's company. Not even once."

"But the company is already in my hands," Jackson retorted with a smug grin.

Victor immediately gritted his teeth. "That's why I'm warning you, you shouldn't be CEO. You're not talented at all."

The smug grin on Jackson's face faded slowly. Jackson immediately tightened his grip on Victor's hand.

Unfortunately, Victor did not feel any pain at all. Victor then leaned closer to Jackson's ear.

"I've been through a lot, Jackson. That night didn't destroy me. I'm still watching you around, I won't let my company be in your hands forever," Victor whispered.

Jackson stiffened instantly. His hair stood on end after hearing Benyard's words. He froze for a moment remembering the night when he almost succeeded in killing Victor.

Why did Benyard say that?

Only Victor and Fredic knew the events of that night.

"YOU!" Jackson suddenly snapped and lost control, punching Benyard's body that Victor was controlling. "BODYGUARD, GET HIM OUT OF MY SIGHT!"

It wasn't long before Fredic and several bodyguards carried Benyard's body away. Inside Benyard's body, Victor was satisfied that his warning had made Jackson uneasy.

"HE'S A MURDERER! DON'T TRUST HIM!" Victor kept repeating his words.

On stage, Jackson looks frustrated and clutches his hair. By now the reporters were taking pictures, filming, and taking notes.

"No need to listen to that guy! Please, what he says is a lie!" Jackson warned.

"I WON'T LET LAWENN INNOVATE GROUP BE IN YOUR HANDS!" That was Victor's final warning.
