Chapter 56. Daniel In Disguise

"Why are you a waiter here?" asked Jackson who looked at Daniel with a dismissive look.

Daniel gave a thin, forced smile. His sharp gaze went straight to Fredic who looked at him both surprised and astonished.

Daniel had not been surprised to see Fredic become Jackson's personal secretary. When their gazes met, Daniel deliberately curved his smirk.

"I didn't expect to see you here, Mr. Jackson." Daniel began to step up to the table in the center of the gathering.

Jackson watched Daniel's movements with an intense gaze. There was satisfaction on his face at Daniel's current state.

"Were you fired from your job by Victor's mansion caretaker?" asked Jackson, his hands now placed on his waist.

Daniel caught a glimpse of Jackson as he placed the glasses on the table. He was forced to curve a faint smile again, then put on a pitiable expression.

"Unfortunately, no. I decided to resign from my job," Daniel replied, lying. "You see, Mr. Jackson, Mr. Victor has been lying weak in the hospital.
