Meanwhile at Darwin's mansion...

Clara was trying to draw the thing that had attacked her in the dream. She was still reminiscing on that as she took her sketchpad and started working out something. She was still feeling uncomfortable.

“And his arm looked like an eggplant,” Clara muttered to herself in exasperation. The drawing just wasn’t working. Tossing the sketchpad onto the bed, she jumped to her feet and ran into the living room, where the retro-red phone sat on a table near the front door.

He couldn’t see the shape of his own hand in front of his eyes, couldn’t see the floor or ceiling of where he was. Where was he? , he knew from the torchlit first glimpse he’d had, forcefully dragged down here by a contingent of werewolves, who had opened the barred gate of the room or should he say a cell for him and ushered him inside as if he were to be slained. Then again, that’s probably exactly what they thought was his faith; To be slain. Nobody dare go against Mr Otumba, well except he or she is courting death. Drake discovered that the cell had a flagged stone floor, that three of the walls were hewn rock, and that the fourth was made of narrowly spaced electrum bars, each end sunk deeply into stone. He also discovered that there was a door set into those bars. He also knew that a long metal bar ran along the east wall, because the Werewolves had attached one loop of a pair of silver cuffs t

Afternoon light woke Samantha up, a beam of pale brightness that laid itself directly over her face, lighting the insides of her eyelids to hot pink. She stirred restlessly and warily opened her eyes. The fever was gone, and so was the sense that her bones were melting and breaking inside her as a result of Drake not returning last night. She sat up and glanced around with curious eyes. She was in her room—white-painted, the bed covered with a brightly woven rag blanket. Lace curtains were drawn back over round windows, letting in circles of light. She sat up slowly, waiting for dizziness to wash over her. Nothing happened. She felt entirely healthy, even well rested. She went to one of the circular windows and peered out. Then, with a surge, the smoke seethed past the edge of the star, poured over the border like a wave breaching a levee. The flames guttered and died as Otumba on the other hand started vibrating like he was feeling a sensation, screaming. The Genie stumbled backward.
