The sound of the pan re echoed through the entire room as Mason stared at his teary wife in utter silence. He did this for such a long time that Scarlett was beginning to feel uncomfortable, and apprehensive.

She knew that this was a delicate topic that they had never breached, how could they? Up until a few weeks ago, the thought of intimacy itself was unspoken between them.

“Are you alright?” She decided to finally ask, and Mason nodded, every movement slightly dazed.

“Y_you are pregnant, aren't you?” Mason asked just to confirm, and Scarlett lifted her hands from her stomach to smile at him.

Yes she was pregnant, she should have suspected, given the amount of emotional turmoil she had started experiencing, but had chucked it up to accumulation of stress, perhaps this was why self diagnosis was frowned upon. She nodded and Mason immediately broke into loud laughter as he leaned forward to pick her up and did a little twirl.

Immediately more than half of Scarlett's worry dissipated,
