Scarlett could only watch as Mason rushed through his breakfast that morning, and practically dashed out of the house, his team following him like shadows.

He was excited, she could tell, she could see it, but she didn't know how to breach the distance behind them, he was constantly on the move lately, ignoring her, or frankly just forgetting she was there.

It was something that hurt her deeply, something that she also knew she had a hand in, but she never thought Mason would behave like that to her, it was quite depressing indeed, and saddened her.
