Chapter 115

Scarlett burrowed deep into the covers of her bed as if that would save her from the onslaught going on outside. She could not believe that this was how she would eventually die. She was really exhausted, and Mason had been really helpful, kind, and supportive, but she knew he was digging for something, and she was not sure what exactly.

Mason stood by her door with a cup of hot tea in his hands, smiling as she ventured towards the tv for the first time in five days. He knew that what was happening was taking a bitter toll on his wife's health, and it hurt that he could do nothing about it.

“Hey.” He called her smiling, and she turned towards him with a tired grin, and he wondered if she had gotten any sleep at all, she looked worse than before she slept.

“Got any rest?” He asked, and she shrugged before sipping her tea, and squeezing his hands to express her thanks as she turned towards the TV, and her hands in his froze.
